Looking on line and talking to a friend who recently lived in England, I think there is much more affordable decent quality horse gear in Britain than in Canada, or even in the US.
True. Decathlon, for example, is a Europe-wide sports supermarket and in the UK has 33 online pages of riding equipment. Not the fanciest and not always the longest-lasting but does the job. Travel in France and Spain, one spots the Decathlon head collars and saddle pads.
I love the super cheap HB Farm on Amazon for $40.00. Granted they don’t have a lot of fun colors but for comfort, price, and durability, you can’t beat them. I use them as my everyday breeches and for showing.
FreeRide is releasing their new suede full seat pro breeches! I am super excited because their breeches are the only ones I ever want to wear these days, but I have also wanted a suede FS option in my closet. How perfect.
Has anyone tried the Correct Connect winter breeches? They are my new absolute favorites (and Im guessing Ill be buying the non-winter version come spring). Steal of a deal pricing and free shipping code thru Christmas. They are so comfy - warm - and repel hair! They almost feel like a neoprene. I was concerned when I took them out of the packaging as they looked so small but are super stretchie and the XL fits my fat bottomed girl self perfectly! https://ridecorrectconnect.com/
I love suede full seat breeches!!! Will definitely be buying.
These are going to be so popular I think, a lot of people love and miss their suede breeches!
@Joan_from_Flatlands Which model Correct Connect winter breeches do you have? I bought the tan ones on sale and was incredibly disappointed. They pilled badly after the first wear and ripped a hole near the back pocket the second time I wore them.
Oh no! I would definitely reach out to their customer service, I have the black, tan and grey I like them so much but have put the tan away for special occasions so I havent actually ridden in them. The others are wearing quite well.
I had the same experience with the tan pair I bought. I’ve worn them twice to hack around on cooler days, and they’re very comfortable but also very pilled. I also don’t think they’re as warm as the winter Pipers I have, but I was hoping they’d be good for those cool-but-not-cold days. Nope, now at the bottom of the winter breech pile.
Usually I’m a solid RJ breeches person, but haven’t found a fullseat I love as much. Everyone seems to love the FR, I may have to try a pair of those.
@Joan_from_Flatlands - Thanks for the suggestion! I emailed them a photo and they have kindly offered to replace them with their “Just Right” model which they say has more durable fabric.
I’ll update once I get them!
Has anyone tried the Esprit Equestrian Wear tights? They seem like they are borderline identical to another two brands, but at a slightly better price point?
I think I answered you already but I have two of their regular tights, one of the pros, and one winter.
I have several pairs of the Esprit Classics, Esprit Pros, and a pair of the Free Ride Lux. I was really really curious about the difference between the two so I bought both to compare LOL. Other than some very small details (different pocket detailing/belt loops/full seat pattern/logo, Free Ride has mesh sock bottoms, Esprit has a mesh “tummy control” panel in the waist), the Esprit Classics and Free Ride Lux appear identical to me. Same material, cut, stitching, etc. I like both brands a lot, but for the price, I’d rather just buy the Esprits.
I love them. warm. look nice. really my favorite winter breeches. I look much less like a bag lady in them than my old standby winter Kerritts.
