I have a friend that has her mare at Juan Sampers right now to be bred to Sezuan. I can keep you posted in a couple of weeks how she made out

Just wondering why the stallion commission would approve a stallion with OCD given the fact that the hereditary element of the disease is well known? Is there an evaluation period to see if he is passing it on?

If “knie = stifle,” then what is the word for knee?
if you mean the big joint in the middle of the front leg between the elbow and the fetlock then “karpal” or “Karpalgelenk” is correct.
Horses, like people, don’t have a “knee” in their front appendage. Horses front legs are equal to our arms more or less and that middle joint is more equivalent to our wrist. Rear legs are the same as our legs location of joints. Knee/stifle is the same as our leg knee. The hock is our ankle.
“gelenk” = joint
“bein” = bone
“knie” or “kniegelenk” is the stifle

We bred a mare at the clinic last week with Sezuan, not one of mine 
Semen looked good. She will be preg checked this week!
I have a mare confirmed pregnant (with frozen) to Sezuan…first try! Can’t wait, mare has produce 2 fabulous foals already!
TeAmo, congrats. Out of interest, what breeding/type is your mare? What strengths are you hoping Sezuan will bring to the formula? I’m always keen to see a little inside a breeder’s mind
A confirmed pregnancy yesterday. The mare was bred less than 2 hours PO (the vet was checking every 2-3 hours), with 2 full doses of semen used. 2 litres of saline flush 6 hours later, starting oxytocin then and continuing 2 + days. Also a caslicks. Pulled out all the stops, and I’m happy it worked.
Congratulations, that’s great news Sunnydays!!! There are 5 confirmed pregancies I believe. The biggest complaint has been the concentration, hopefully the agent in Denmark will give extra straws to make it 4 instead of 3 per dose. I believe the argument is that mares are getting PG on 3:(

Top Kat — I think you mean mares are NOT getting pregnant on 3 straws …?? I know one or two other people used 2 full doses, after a single dose did not result in a pregnancy. Only a couple (of very many who tried) have been successful with a single dose. I am hearing about 10% success rate on single dose breedings. I’m sure the SO and brokers have a good picture. Only 300 million sperm provided in that single dose - obviously not enough.
I actually cancelled my order for Sezuan semen after reading this… (OCD and poor semen??) So thank you to everybody who contributed.
