Eeeee! I promise not to forget the little people when I’m famous, y’all.
LOL. Congrats!
In the event I win, I’ll go ahead and start taking minion applications. Being quick with cocktail-making is a plus.

What’s the story there? Good or bad?
And shameless again, they’ve posted my first entry

All your Haikus are brilliant, but
My gelding so thinks
He has the moves like Jagger
He moves like seizure
is outstanding!

Ha, thanks! That one was actually my favorite too I think we all know at least one horse like that…
I mix a mean sidecar. Made right, it tastes like lemonade that knocks you on your ass.
Other than that, I pour whiskey. Or rum + [insert mixer].

I loved that one That and the pee pillow. As a fellow grey draft cross owner… yes. hahahaha

i have sometimes thought about sending in things to them - i guess this comment means to be cautious???
Congrats! I briefly considered entering because I have a blast with the blogging thing but I’m not (anymore? yet?) an eventer. You’re the perfect candidate though!
Hi PaintedHunter, thanks for the s/o and good luck!
judybigredpony, I think hints like this without explanation just build suspense and worry for no reason. Something is either worth discussing openly or not. I have a ton of respect for Xctrygirl, both when she is criticizing and praising EN, so I don’t mean to step on any toes here by providing a bit of background. Basically, on 14/11/13, we got an email from Xctrygirl saying that a post she had submitted had been edited beyond her comfort level and she asked it to be restored to its original version. After trading emails and calls with Xctrygirl and the team, we realized that one paragraph not been copy and pasted from the email into the article (along with 6 or so minor tweaks – taking out an “LOL,” etc). Xctrygirl had a great point to not be happy about that mistake, we happily restored the paragraph with apologies, and the email train ended on a very positive note. We’ve had some great and productive communication with Xctrygirl since then as well. Part of the reason for creating the new Bloggers Row format is that everyone can enter their own posts so there isn’t a risk of their being a copy & paste issue/error.

No idea about the story but honestly, I’ve sent things to the USEA and the COTH. I know the USEA is always looking for good things (they have posted a few of my “blogs”).
If you have something you think is interesting and good…don’t be afraid to send it to whomever you want.
Also wanted to add that another COTHer is a finalist — divinecomedy, or Maggie Deatrick. Go COTHers!
Great work, PaintedHunter. Love the haiku!

Congrats to her! Looking forward to reading all the entries
I’m tired of horse haikus and listicles of 9 Ways to Deal with Winter and jokey musings about barn life.
OTOH, I never get tired of reading insightful commentary on horses and eventing.
I’m hoping for more of the latter.
Well, unfortunately humor’s my thing. Superior vast knowledge of national and international eventing? I’m no expert. I’d be a fraud if I tried to write about that on a serious level, but some say I’m amusing. Gotta work with what I have.

I think you are funny…so let that shine through. I think most of your normal blog entries commenting on your own stuggles and those of Mr. Ollie are insightful and entertaining. People can relate to them It’s fun to read through the eyes of someone new to the sport…and most of us love cheering you on as you grow as an eventer.
Don’t worry about name dropping or commenting on the status of the WEG team from an experts eye. Be true to who you are…as that is more insightful and fun to read.
