Those look like they could actually be nice for overly humid summer days. Those seem so far away right now, but they’ll be here soon enough.
Sounds like you have a good business opportunity here, for hand made customized breeches!! There are only a few companies that make ones that I personally find so comfy I would sleep in (my definition of comfy), I wish I could find others. And you have the perfect customer base already! I would love to order from you!
I’ve thought about it and if you are interested you can PM me - between the barn, the full time job, and MBA school I can’t commit to the business right now but I could do a one off here or there. Maybe when I retire…
Oh I love to wear my riding breeches to yoga - and i use the yoga mat as saddle pad- no slipping - It this whole thing really serious??
Danielle won the 5* Grand Prix last night at WEF, presumably wearing her white yoga pants. She looked AMAZING in the first round and the jump off. I hope you were able to watch.
And feathers! She’s brilliant.
From the pictures I would never guess those are yoga pants
Quote coming from a woman who spent days weaving feathers into her hair is not necessarily one I would want to take fashion advice from.(and also said riding attire is too strict. But,you only see X part of your leg (and bum) so if you’re comfortable and the backside isn’t too revealing… what the heck…
Yeahhhh, not my fashion wheelhouse. But if she’s having fun with it and not breaking any rules and winning classes, good for her.
I get wanting to ride in yoga pants, they’re super comfortable and I am very happy in my Betabrand dress pant yoga pants that I wear to work. It makes long shifts of sitting much more comfortable, and they’re fab for flying. But I feel like they’d be very slippery in the saddle.
Spinoff. I wanted these to be the greatest things since breaded slice based on online reviews. I really did. So I coughed up $$$ and bought a pair.
They’re just ponte pants.
Like you can buy from any number of stores for half the price.
Am I missing something? I was so disappointed. They’re literally just ponte pants that cost twice as much as normal.
I got the same thing at Wal Mart for 15 bucks. With real zippers and rear pockets. I’m not sure why women have to wear yoga pants to work, but can’t you at least put some pockets in them?
I also agree that someone who spent several DAYS weaving feathers into hair and has lace top snake skin boots isn’t my fashion plate. She’s doing her own thing and that’s cool but we don’t have to copy her.
They’re not actually yoga pants, they just call them that because they’re comfortable. They’re pull on ponte pants with a false fly…
I really wanted them to be some revolution in comfort but they are really JUST ponte pants.
Though I see the price has dropped to a more reasonable cost since I initially ordered. I think I paid around $80 and they’re around $60 now.
Yeah, and I got them on sale and paid less than that. I think they’re a bit thicker material than other ponte pants I’ve tried on, and I do wish they had real pockets. But the selling point for me, a tall person, is that they actually come in a good length. How long are the cheapie ones from WalMart? Because I’m not at all opposed to the same thing at a much better price!!
ETA: Why yoga pants to work? For me personally, I work in television and sit in a control room all day. I prefer to be comfortable while doing that, and seeing as no one even sees the lower half of me, I might as well wear comfy pants that fit within the company dresscode. I’m also a big fan of skirts, but it’s cold in there, so pants are better in winter.
I am not a tall person, I am squarely average. I tend to buy my ponte pants from Loft or the Merona brand at Target. I know the Loft ones come in petite and long, I am unsure about the Target ones. I usually pay around $40/pair and they have a real zipper/button and pockets. $80 for the Betabrand ones just seemed nuts to me because, in essence, they are just ponte pants-- nothing more and nothing less. My Loft ones are the same weight, might even be the same fabric. The Target ones are maybe a smidge thinner but also tend to cost even closer to $30. I really wanted these Betabrand ones to be revolutionary but they’re really just ponte pants but a cuter name.
Now if only it was sociably acceptable for men to wear spandex type breeches. Cold open confession time, I buy women’s breeches for my schooling breeches because I ride at a semi private barn where everyone could care less. Not only are they 80-100 dollar cheaper. But you can actually move around in them and they don’t have the same ermm… what the most politically correct way to say this… Constriction issues? Im not sure who is designing mens pants but they are either a parachute, or so thick you feel like a 2x4. Not to mention the horrors of summer months. Honestly the way I look at it if someone is that concerned with the tension of the pants i’m wearing they’re a creep to begin with.
She definitely has her own sense of equestrian attire and she’s getting the job done. A bunch of us got some yoga/exercise pants at Sam’s club, very comfy and these have great pockets for cell phones at 1/2 or more the cost of riding tights/breeches. In reality, the knee patch riding tights don’t really give you that much more stickability than yoga/exercise pants, now full seat breeches another story.
