The old man gets it! Good try Eric, he didn’t go safe to ensure getting a medal. Playing conservative would have given him the exact same bronze, so he might have well as gone for it anyway on that mare.
This has seriously been the most dramatic show jumping that I have ever seen. I’m really proud of everybody, everybody brought thier A game the entire time this week. Shout out to Qatar, first time qualifying a team and they had a rider in the individual medal jump off!
And of course big shout to to Nick!
Disappointed for Kent, but OH MY BIG STAR!!! So happy for Nick, well deserved, what a spectacular horse. What a nail biter!!

That was so exciting! Sad for Eric but he went for it. Nick is such a great rider, well deserved. Congrats to all the winners and their teams.

Eric was really motoring around. He finished .7 of a second faster than NS. That’s why he got bronze.
great result- as a Canadian was cheering for eric
but have to say this was my second happiest result for gold
well, the US did get a team silver, so nothing to cry about. With such a close miss, it will be that much sweeter when Eric and Kent do win gold.

I think I have heart palpitations from the jumping today! :lol: What a great day full of great riders and horses. Being a Canadian, I was rooting for Eric, and he was oh so close! So happy for Nick though! He’s been around for so long and is still a top class rider.
