I knew the Swedish rider had switched from eventing to show jumping but I didn’t realize he had medaled in eventing! Has any other rider done that?
Ooooooooh those are medal holders! I’ve been wondering for two weeks!!!

Same here, I thought, ‘why are they handing them paperweights as trophies??’ But it’s actually a decent idea.
I could not be happier. What an amazing horse.
Oh great watching nick tear up makes me start to cry!!
Well, congrats to the Brits! Gold in individual Show Jumping, Gold in individual Dressage.
Clap clap clap clap clap.

It looked like some of the earlier riders thought they were paperweights, too!
Also had a sniffle…
Man - does he deserve it.
Congratulations to Nick Skelton and Big Star, what an Olympics it has been for Team Great Britain!!
I am over the moon for Eric and Fine Lady
And so, fellow COTHers, we have reached the end of the 2016 Olympic equestrian events. Or, as NBCOlympics.com might say:
COVERAGE HAS CONCLUDED
Don’t forget the pentathlon xx
Thrilled Nick and Big Star won!!!
I can’t believe that little GB is second in the Medal count !
23 Gold
21 Silver
13 bronze
Second to the USA.
35 Gold
33 Silver
32 Bronze
So far.
Wonder if it has something to do with doping ?

hum, without that rail, Eric would have won as he was faster than Nick![/QUOTE]
I don’t understand all the comments about Eric was faster. Being faster doesn’t mean anything if you don’t keep the rails up, that’s the first priority! I would have been happy to see Eric win again, but Nick was even more deserving this time, he went clear and fast enough to put the pressure on everyone else, a winning strategy in this instance. I’m very happy for Nick, its nice to see an oldster win a gold medal.
I think I’m all Olympic’ed out…until next time! Glad I had some fun peeps to hang with and chat with
Quite unfortunate Olympic competition for the Dutch, particularly considering their efforts in the London games and at the 2014 WEG.
