I believe it’s only sponsored business names, like HH Azur is still owned by Double H Farms so it’s “sponsorship”. Same goes for La Biostethique Sam FBW becoming just Sam FBW, because La Biostethique is his sponsor for that horse, while the FBW is his farm identifier in his registered name I think. Unless FBW is something related to Baden Wurttembergs?

But even Sam at least had the name ‘Sam’ left - thank goodness! What happens if a horse’s ENTIRE name is struck off, like would have happened with Shutterfly? He competes by his barn name, I guess.

Don’t see MW make that mistake often, she just got past the distance, Plenty height, didn’t look like she was dragging him, he just got too close. That course is big and technical but it’s doable.
Still think that’s a hell of an Olympic debut for the mare.

I think the difference in that case is that “Shutterfly” is the horse’s actual registered show name, not a sponsorship. The prefix/suffix is deleted if it’s a corporate sponsorship. I guess if a horse’s name was “IBM” or something like that it would still go by that name as long as the company wasn’t paying for sponsorship rights.

I think the difference is Shutterfly wasn’t sponsored by Shutterfly. So you could have a horse named Chanel so long as the brand Chanel doesn’t fund that horse.
The four faulters are qualified for round B, awesome! However, right now were sitting on 10 clears and 1 time fault with 6 to go. Anything can happen in show jumping, right? :yes:
