Am I correct in thinking that the teams get to drop whichever score is worst (the drop score) each day? In other words, if rider A’s score is dropped on day one and rider B has the worst score on day 2, rider B’s score will be dropped on day 2?
Yup, they dropped the worst score from yesterday and will do the same today and tomorrow.

Yes, that’s correct. It doesn’t matter who’s score is the worst though, it could be the same rider on both days, or in both rounds in a normal nations cup, the worst score gets dropped. If 3 riders jump clear and one rider has 8 faults, the 8 faults is the drop score.

It’s always been that way. 4 years ago we missed the cut to qualify for London and had to send a top team to Mexico for Pan Ams so that we could go to London. The Olympics are the top of the sport, it should be very hard to qualify! I’m pretty sure that the top 5 teams qualify for all Olympic disciplines at the WEG.
Au contraire, the World Championships (collectively called the WEG these days) are the top of the sport, esp when it comes to showjumping. Nothing compares to the final four in showjumping, true pinnacle of the sport.
I mean for years pros couldn’t even ride in the Olympics, how could it ever be called the top?

I’m pretty sure that the top 5 teams qualify for all Olympic disciplines at the WEG

Nope only the top 3 in Dressage qualify

The USA must win the Pan Ams to field a dressage team.

Beezie clear!!

Beezie had a fantastic clear! Such a beautiful round. She and Cortez are really an amazing pair.

and in an interview he said this is his first championship show. His Mare looks like a sweet , happy type horse. She just bounced around and left the arena on the buckle.

He looks like a stiff wind would knock him over. So young so slim.
True! lol

He and the mare make a great team.

Beautiful round by Beezie today! Cortes C flowed around the course and made it look easy.

According to the live scoring, Tomas Couve Correa from Chile was just eliminated and Qatari rider is next to go.

ok I see that now… app. rider is conscious and will be carried out on a stretcher. Totally missed the fall. Relief!!

Chilean - Announcer says he is conscious- looked bad. Hope he will be ok.

Sounds like the horse kneed him/kicked him in the head… did not show a replay of the fall…
