(How is school, supershorty?)
I had a long conference call and was able to catch up on the live feed from yesterday. Clinta and Good Luck, OMG! Those horses are just incredible. I thought Azur was going to be McLain’s horse of a lifetime and couldn’t imagine he had a better one, but he does! wow.
What language is “Clinta” the word for blue? I thought that was kind of a rule for McLain’s Magical Mares. (haha!)
Fingers crossed for Team USA, everyone is riding beautifully.
Today’s course looks much more forgiving. I bet there will be quite a few clear rounds, unlike yesterday.
That triple is riding a lot better than I thought it would. I still wouldn’t want to jump it though haha
btw, if anyone is interested, RIDE TV is showing the WEG dressage tonight at 6:00 central time, then a road to Tryon, sort of better late than never. RIDE has an alignment with the FEI, and they show quite a bit of sj, and dressage. They don’t show as much eventing, but they have shown the event rider masters for the last two years. The courses aren’t really bigger, it is just that the competition is so much tougher. They usually devote most of Monday afternoon and evening to FEI competitions.
I can’t remember, will the top 25 today start on 0 on Sunday?
Excellent, thank you! I watch a good bit of Ride TV, and try to catch as much as possible of what they run on Mondays; the Event Riders Masters has been great!, and they have rerun it a number of times.
Lately, the TV listings have an always lined up with what they are televising, so I appreciate the heads up about dressage tonight.
On an unrelated note: does anyone know how soon the jumping will be available to watch after it ends tonight at 6:00? TIA! No way I’m going to be finished at the barn and back home before then
You people are not nearly as chatty as the eventers, they posted after every round and kept those of us who can’t watch up to date much better than watching the live scoring.
It may look that way but Alan’s courses tend to really separate the wheat from the chaff. I watched in Omaha and last fall at Piedmont Jumper just how brilliant his designs are. No tricks, just finding your own weaknesses.
Much like Derek DiGrazia’s event courses. Love them both.

OK, question: Who was jumping for the last hour? If these are the teams, what were the last riders doing?
Those were the riders competing as individuals.
Em
Those individuals went first. Those without a team in the finals.
Devin Ryan, first US Team rider, had 1 rail down.
Ahhh that was too bad about that rail for Devin.
Man that DSP Alice mare… I’ll take that one any day of the week.
W. Muff, first rider for Switzerland had 3 rails down and 1 time fault.
Are they not dropping a score today?
As far as I can tell they are, I don’t know why they wouldn’t.
Who brings a crying baby to WEG?? The baby is obviously not happy being there, and I’m sure everyone seated nearby are annoyed. I don’t get it.
The commentator made it sound like they weren’t, saying the 16 was the lowest score the US could finish on today, but then said they are dropping scores after I posted this. IDK
I assume they don’t drop a score till 4 riders have gone. Cause you might get a worse one! These guys are jumping in the same order as they did in eventing!
