show of hands: who has successfully been able to live stream/watch archived events?

I am able to watch on nbcolympics.com and if you drag the “play bar” to the left you can start at any point. I would assume this will only work while the live is still live at some point.

It would be nice if there are archives of streaming, but honestly I wouldn’t expect it until after the games are over simply because the more that is archived the more that are on the site downloading and it will slow down the live streaming for everyone. Even with cloud servers there is only some much bandwidth.

I just wish they would keep the name screen up the entire time so you knew who was in the ring. That is one of my pet peeves with all live broadcasts of equestrian events.

Yes, agree Molly99.

AARRGGGHHHHHHH.

I cannot get “authenticated”. I cannot tell you how many times I have watched Carson Daly and I have upgraded my Adobe Flash player 3 times.

Most of the time, the only place I get sent into the HELP/INDEX. Once yesterday and once today I have actually gotten to the screen which asks for my cable supplier. I click on DISH and then… nada.

I have tried going straight to the live stream of Equestrian Dressage to see if I could get authenticated through there, but all I have is a black screen where the live stream should be.

What am I doing wrong? [falls into a slobbering, crumbling heap]

Just curious, because I haven’t been able to watch anything so far.:([/QUOTE]

Neither have I, and that is definitely a HorseProblem for me. I feel your pain.

I have started a thread asking for alternative ways to access live streams. Maybe someone will post on it telling us how to access it. I have tried NBC (need a subscription), BBC (no links to live stream but only some very complicated directions about having Newsfeeder but once you get one the BBC doesn’t give you a link on their site to activate it). I have tried other links to “watch livestream not on NBC” but none of the sites are active.

AArrrrrgggghhhh…

What is the “play bar”?

Watching eventing (dressage) now on NBC live stream - no problem.

BTW…what a beautiful venue. Olympic organizers were right about Greenwich Park. It’s a stunning backdrop.

I am relieved that the iPad app is now working. I deleted it, and reinstalled, and I can watch the three day dressage now.

I still cannot log in from my desktop. Nor can I rewind.

I was pleasantly surprised to log in this morning and see that I could “rewind” the live feed and watch those EARLY rides! Then I discovered that the video feed was choppy- it would be going along great, then sputter, then speed back up (repeat) so I stopped watching on my desktop. Switched to my laptop and had the same problem. Hopefully if/when they archive the footage, it will play better. HOWEVER, I am ever so grateful that we even HAVE equestrian coverage that the masses can see! No uber expensive viewing packages to purchase (like the 1992 games), or other pay-per-view type streaming sites. Now if the darn tv would actually SHOW any of the equestrian coverage like they list…ugh.

I have come up completely empty :frowning:

The Canadian (french) feed - managed to get Peter Barry’s ride about 5 seconds at a time, with 30 second pauses. Gave up.

No NBC through proxy, no BBC (expat shield won’t finish downloading). Grrr.

PLEASE tell me how you got “authenticated”? I get to the drop down screen with all of the cable providers listed (showing each one’s logo) and I click on DISH (I have verified my online ID and passord with DISH already, so I know I have one).

Then I get another screen with a 1 - 2 - 3 on the top and it tells me I am at Step 2, which should be putting in my online ID and password., RIGHT?

But – nothing shows up to allow me to do that.:(:no::cry:

I have dowloaded EVERYTHING required of me. I have updated to the latest versions of everything and my computer complies way above minimum requirements.

I have tried to do this through I.E. and through Google Chrome. And I get the same results.

What am I doing wrong?

Try being very patient and just wait for authentication to process? I received message that mine had failed . . . but after I stared at my screen in despair for a few minutes, it was replaced by a message that congratulated me on my success.

READ THIS ENTIRE THREAD !!!

All is working well - FINALLY. Changed to Firefox from Safari and all the log-in problems ended.
I’m using a MacBook Air and a MacBook.

I dunno. But your issues sound familiar. I jumped through all the hoops and at first no luck, but then after a few hours when I tried again, it logged me in automatically and later on I got the email alerts as promised.

I haven’t had to log on since the initial set-up…I go to www.nbcolympics.com and I’m automatically in.

Maybe the site was overloaded with people trying to sign up ?

it’s been working flawlessly for me, and on the ctv app on my Samsung phone.

Hand up here! I’m totally in love with Expat Shield!

Finally, able to login and watch. Took an hour on the phone with Optimum support.

Watched some of the eventing dressage this morning with no issues on my mac. I have directtv.
