show of hands: who has successfully been able to live stream/watch archived events?
I have come up completely empty :frowning:

The Canadian (french) feed - managed to get Peter Barry’s ride about 5 seconds at a time, with 30 second pauses. Gave up.

No NBC through proxy, no BBC (expat shield won’t finish downloading). Grrr.
Blugal, try this link:

No commentary at all. The most annoying thing about this feed is the constant Grey Goose vodka commercials repeating themselves ad nauseum, but the feed has been working well for me.

Call your provider…
PLEASE tell me how you got “authenticated”? I get to the drop down screen with all of the cable providers listed (showing each one’s logo) and I click on DISH (I have verified my online ID and passord with DISH already, so I know I have one).

Then I get another screen with a 1 - 2 - 3 on the top and it tells me I am at Step 2, which should be putting in my online ID and password., RIGHT?

But – nothing shows up to allow me to do that.:(:no::cry:

I have dowloaded EVERYTHING required of me. I have updated to the latest versions of everything and my computer complies way above minimum requirements.

I have tried to do this through I.E. and through Google Chrome. And I get the same results.

What am I doing wrong?
I was having the same problem. My provider is Verizon was nor recognizing my log in and try to reset it and then it would not accept my email …even though it was acknowledging I was a subscriber to Verizon. I called customer service and they reverified me so I could re-register my online account with Verizon. I was then able to use my log in and password. What a hassle but it work. Make sure u speak with a live person. Not one of those online chat things where they try to walk u thru it. It’s just a waste of time. Good luck!

Anyone else having problems now? I get to the video on nbc, and it says an error has occurred.

I downloaded the plugin for the bbc streaming, but couldn’t find the video!

GRR! This is frustrating!

We are not alone.

I could not watch the eventing dressage at all today, could not watch archived footage of the first day because it ended after two minutes, and today the archive has disappeared from the iPad app version.

I’ve had no problems today. In fact, it’s been better for me today than yesterday (fewer hiccups in the transmission). Watched archived footage, live footage, and paused live feed and watched/gone ahead/back.

I have Directv for tv, FIOS for internet, and have been watching on my (old) computer via Google Chrome browser.

All morning the app on my iPhone has said “upcoming,” so I’ve given up since it should be over by now. The blurb under equestrian under live now says its going to conclude at something like 11:30 with Mark Todd’s ride. Anyone else? Tried uninstalling reinstalled, but nothing.

Same here, except earlier it noted an American rider (don’t remember who) was “upcoming” at 10:18 or something, then it switched to saying that Mark Todd’s ride would conclude the morning’s events. Yet the entire thing still says “upcoming”. I’m so disappointed. I can watch all the #@%!*&^ handball I want, but no equestrian yet.

It was working for me all morning, with some hiccups. Then it froze during the Swedish rider’s performance and I could not get it to work again to see Mark Todd. Sigh…
Can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow!! on xc

but with the bbc, you can go back and watch the whole dressage show again.

I had problems at the beginning when I tried to register with NBCO about two weeks before Opening Ceremonies. Resolved through my provider.

Had no problem watching until yesterday when I tried to mix gymnastics with dressage. Everything is smooth today, splitting the screen with both.

I have Insight Communications and use Explorer for feed and Firefox for EN and some gym boards.

I will say that the one time I emailed NBCO yesterday about a glitch in podium training that they responded within 15 minutes although the problem had been solved.

I believe you have to use some ingenuity when searching for what you want but this is a complicated first-time undertaking for NBC and I, for one, am grateful.

I can watch NBC on my laptop with no problem, but on my PC it won’t even allow me select my cable provider (although I can select other cable providers).

Oh well. The BBC coverage is a lot better

Yes excellent livestream and replay feed. NBC on laptop, through account with DirectTV. Google Chrome browser. Very happy, glad I didn’t terminate cable tv (well, satellite) a couple of months ago as I almost did.

Blast you, NBC!

shakes fist at network

I have DISH. I only have NBC in my package. Not CNBC. Not MSNBC. So I can watch eight hours of bicycling but I cannot haz equestrian events. Unless you count the millisecond shot of Zara Phillips saluting.

I’ve tried ExPat Shield but it says something weird about insufficient authorizations or something. The ctv link above tells me silverlight is out of date.

This is why I never watch TV. I’m not getting inspired to change my viewing habits by this experience either.

Watching BBC on my laptop. Love it! (and you can “catch up” if you miss the live coverage!) The commentators are great.

I am a happy camper.

The main problem I’m having is fast forwarding the replay video. I don’t want to watch every ride, and at 1st it was working great. Not so much after the 2 hr. mark. Stuck for 5 minutes now, and I know if I refresh it will start from the beginning.

Well, apparently NBC won’t let you watch if you don’t have a cable account.

WHY do you need a cable account to watch video on a PC?

I haven’t had any problems. I put in my Verizon Fios log-in and password and it has been fine for the last two days.

I DO have a cable account and wanted to “upgrade” just for the Olympics with Comcast. They say they can’t do it unless they send me a new digital box for that account which has NOTHING to do with being able to livestream or see the replays on NBC. They just lost my money.

I can’t get the UK version, and the Canadian isn’t working. Does anyone know where else we can go, and even pay, to see all of the events replayed? Livestream REALLY doesn’t work timewise for me.

So far so good via my DirectTV account on a Mac. Have now been able to watch archived eventing dressage on both Safari and Firefox, after of course verifying each separately. Even managed to fast forward to watch Japanese rider standing in first after dressage (it’s at 5 hours 59 minutes). I guesstimated what time it would be and got lucky–managed to hit near the beginning of Karin Donckers’ ride which was also lovely and just a few before where I was aiming.

weird but it works for me

Oddly, I find that the NBC feed works WAY better when you leave your mouse pointer on the little ball (or line) that advances as the video feed advances when playing the video after the fact. If I move my pointer off this line/the ball that advances with the feed, I get “stuttered” feed.

Thank you - it works!! — ETA: maybe not. I can see the replays of Day 1 - but I see on another thread that you & other COTHers weren’t able to get it to work today. Darn CTV.
