show of hands: who has successfully been able to live stream/watch archived events?
There are all sorts of sites streaming the NBC feeds. You should be careful though.

You could download the program from http://www.expatshield.com (you can turn it on and off - it lives in your tray) then watch the BBC streams @ http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video

But REALLY…NBC DOESN’T START UNTIL TOMORROW. (nor does the dressage.) http://www.nbcolympics.com/online-listings/day=july-27/index.html
THANK YOU!! This worked fabulously for me, I’m watching BBC Olympic Breakfast without a hiccup right this very moment.

Word of advice to anyone installing ExpatShield – make sure to choose ‘Custom Install’ when installing the program and uncheck all the boxes so the program doesn’t hijack your browser and default search client!

Help… I managed to download Expat shield. I used custom install. I have ad-block on Firefox. I thought I was all set!

But it won’t connect. I’ve tried having no programs open. I switched my default browser to IE, then back to Firefox. No dice.

Any insight would be gratefully accepted!

iPad app with Directv. Working great, beautiful picture. Got to watch some of the eventing dressage as I was out riding when it was actually airing on TV.

The CTV live (World Feed) is working!! Yay!!!

Should the CTV feed work for everybody?

iPad app and Verizon FIOS here. Working great!

not working for me, I get an application error. It says to refresh or click help. I have refreshed a number of times, can’t find ‘help’.

Not only have I not been able to watch any equestrian live stream but the scheduled tv showing of cross country was pre-empted by VOLLEYBALL, and not even US team!!!

BBC watching tip

I have managed to get the screen to work on BBC (for past 15 minutes) by following directions here:

Troubleshooting

I’m getting audio but no video, what can I do?

If you are hearing audio but getting no video playback, try turning off hardware acceleration and refreshing the page and then seeing if the video plays.
If you right click on the video player and open up ‘Settings’, you should get an option to turn off hardware acceleration.
If you can’t click on settings because it is greyed out, please follow the steps in the following message board in order to turn off hardware acceleration: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/891337
We are also aware of a specific problem in Firefox with streams failing when connecting to the internet when set to ‘Auto-detect proxy settings for this network’.
To get round this, select Tools > Options (or Preferences on a Mac) and click on the ‘Advanced’ button and select the ‘Network’ tab.
You will then see ‘Configure how Firefox connects to the internet’ and should click on the ‘Settings’ button.
Finally select ‘No proxy’ or ‘Use system proxy settings’.
I’m using a Mac and the screen sometimes goes green and pink. What can I do?

Try turning off hardware acceleration. Follow the instructions above.

CTV checks your proxy and if you’re not in Canada, it won’t work without other proxy masking software.

yep. via comcast and it was effortless (and i dont even own a tv nor did i have a tv subscription before the Olympics)

one things i cant find is the blasted time schedule for eventing dressage! if anyone knows where it is or has a copy please let me know

My husband has been able to log in to Live Extra, which is great, but the eventing dressage from today was not archived, and so far, I only see highlights archived.

So, what good is live streaming when there is no archived video streaming such as in Beijing?
i was able to watch the eventing dressage archieve fine… you just need the right link…

here is day 2 have no idea where day 1 went! damn it!

Expat works! Phew! And the Brits do a much better job on the commentaries related to horse events.

Live streaming on the iPad worked great this morning, and I even got the BBC commentator. I am still hot able to replay anything, though. It runs for five minutes and then tells me my video has ended.

Am watching it now and have had it on whilst at work (we have really really good internet connection here)

I logged in as a DirectTV customer. It’s been great. Have had it paused and rewinding it ALOT.

That Japanese fall looked pretty bad, and boy they were going like GANGBUSTERS before that fall. I was really impressed.

Am watching the neat Ecuadorian individual amateur (business man) on his big bay doing quite well…and just started showing Tiana Coudray on the dapple grey (with a stop that just happend…shucks)

Now that I’m on my PC rather than iPad, I’ve been able to watch the first hour (so far) of the cross country replay without any problem. This is via the NBC Olympics site. Signed in with my Dish login and it has been working great so far – just a small hiccup once in awhile, but way better than the iPad app. Haven’t tried to watch anything live yet on the PC as I just haven’t had the time today.

Comcast wont’ let me login as I dont have cable, just use them for internet.

Trying expat sheild now…
