I will!
I hope she is feeling better tomorrow. Poor little kitty.
Hugs and jingles to you both. Waiting for those darn results is always the hardest.
it is! I’ve been pretty lucky with pets in my life so far. They’ve all been super healthy till the very end. It’s a new (and not pleasant) experience to have a sick one.
Oh. My. Look at the tortietude just oozing off those pictures.
I hate seeing the spunky ones get sick. They just seem so much worse than if any “normal” cat gets ill.
I hope she is feeling better soon.
She’s gorgeous!!! I love torties.
She is beautiful!
Thank you for the update on Ivy. More jingles and purrs coming. She is a beautiful girl. Hugs to you.
Ivy is adorable ~ Jingles Ivy is home and happy again today ~ AO
((hugs)) for her worried mom ~
The tortietude is real!! I didn’t realize till we got one. Boy, was I in for a ride. She’s my first non barn cat, so the tude and all the indoor cat stuff was quite a learning curve. I enjoy her, but I won’t get another indoor cat when she’s crossed the rainbow bridge. I’ll stick with birds, thank you.
If this is a recurring issue or expected to be, I had great success using miralaxs in my cat
Good to know! Thank you.
She has some nerve damage in her back end. She can’t hold her tail upright and I don’t think she can feel it very well either. I’m assuming that the nerve damage is the underlying cause, unless she ate something she shouldn’t have. She’s had issues before off and on her whole life, but never this severe. I assumed when she had a nasty bottom that she had diarrhea, not constipation, but I’m thinking now that I was wrong. It’s always cleared on it’s own without major issues before. This time is a lot worse though. I should hear from the vet this morning, fingers crossed it’s good news. I miss my work buddy.
Does she eat canned pate cat food?
Adding water to that helps too.
Definitely ask vet about ways to keep her hydrated and to keep her poop a consistency she can move it along, if you know what I mean.
She’ll eat some of it. She’s rather picky
I wonder if she has any Manx in her background.
More jingles from Morticia the Tortie.
I don’t think so. She has a lump on her tail about an inch down that feels like a healed break to me. We got her at 4 months old and she as extremely against any touch past her shoulders and overall very grumpy. Looking back she was probably in pain and I should have taken her to the vet
Update:
Blood work looks OK. Sugar is a bit high, vet thinks it’s from stress. He got all the hard stool cleaned out and she’s still on IV fluids. I should be able to bring her home tomorrow.
We’ll keep her on laxatives’ to keep things moving and try to get some weight back on her. If she doesn’t gain weight, then we’ll re-assess the problem.
I’m sure she’ll be glad to come home tomorrow. I hope shes able to regain the weight.
So glad nothing worse showed on the blood work!
Me too! Now to find a wet food she’ll eat consistently.
