wtaf? Why???
Because he was a jackass. I guess he enjoyed the wildlife. I don’t know if he ever actually owned horses. He owned cattle. He owned a large amount of acreage in a coastal area where boarding barns were more scarce due to cost. He built a barn, riding amenities and fenced pastures on the land to make some money.
This is also the place where I met someone who was neutering cats on her kitchen table by just knocking them out with acepromazine. I gave all the stray cats away to good homes and I don’t regret it.
Unfortunately, idiots don’t wear signs.
She what now? Horrifying but sadly plausible. I worked at a nonprofit spay/neuter clinic (veterinarian) where a client offered us some old Levi legs. Why? “To put the tomcats into. So they don’t claw you when you cut their nuts off.”
…we, we have… actual drugs for that…we have ANESTHESIA.
Yeah, I was at a place in Montana where boy kitties got a nip of ace, stuffed headfirst into a boot, and slid back out minus a couple of bits. Cowboy ghetto style.
Jesus H Christ. People really are disgusting.

Brief update:
I could not move my horse. I actually did go door-to-door, and I’m surprised I didn’t get shot.
Anyway, barn situation is a lot better. Aggressive horse got really sick, and he was separated for months, which I think helped his mood. Plus, barn manager handled him. I also talked with the barn manager and she is aware of everything that is going on. She has stepped in.
I’m staying out of any discussions about the horse at the barn. I have noticed that when I go grab my mare, the gelding stays away.
Thanks for the tips! Wish I could move my mare. Right now it’s not feasible for me to move (I posted about how I’m a caregiver for my mom), but we have talked about potentially moving in the next five years. I’m just thankful that the situation with the gelding is better.
Thanks for letting us know. I wondered how this had come out. Glad things are much better for you and your mare.
I guessed Professional Trainer.
Physical therapist in this case! Sorry about that.
My trainer doesn’t live anywhere near where I live, unfortunately.
