Are you sure? I just see a new font/logo thing about smart perks. There’s still an asterix about exclusions applying, though. Are you sure it’s not just the usual “ships free with smartpaks and orders over $75” deal that they always have?

But… if you board you always got free barnsaver shipping anyway on anything you ordered?! So this is really only a significant benefit to people who both have horses on smartpaks AND keep them at home/at a barn that isn’t set up for barnsaver (which any barn COULD be if there’s a horse on smartpaks there). So how is this adding much? Other than getting stuff shipped immediately rather than on your barnsaver day and to your house rather than to the barn?

I think is is all that it’s adding. But it’s better than nothing.

When I get non-smartpak stuff sent to the barn it tends to walk away, so I’ll probably use it.

It’s nice to have added benefits. I was just expecting something… bigger/better/different given SP coming on this thread and teasing that something big was coming down the pike.

Yeah - I hope that isn’t their big thing.

I think they need to go back to free monogramming. I spent like $300 that day last month when they did free monogramming. I would seriously buy EVERYTHING from them if they’d monogram it for free…

That just made me expect something much bigger/more exciting than a slight tweak on free shipping that won’t impact most customers.

Free embroidery is THE BOMB and 100% sucked my business away from their competitors EVERY TIME. Even if they only did it every other month or every few months-- as long as it was on whatever item you wanted, I’d be thrilled.

The way I understood the barn saver shipping it was once a week on your designated shipping day.

This free shipping (from what I have read here) allows you to order any day and ship any day.

Which is a benefit if you realize you need something the day after your barn saver shipping day.

I never qualified for free embroidery. My horses are at home.

Yeah, I used to buy a saddle pad like every month - for no reason except they were pretty and I’d be like - I feel like a saddle pad with a ladybug on it!! - and so I’d buy one and get it monogrammed. You can’t tell me they weren’t making a good percentage on that transaction!

As I understood it, even with horses at home-- as long as you had them on Smartpaks you could set yourself up as a “barn” and therefore take advantage of all the barnsaver goodies like free shipping. It didn’t require a commercial boarding facility, just a horse on a minimum value of smartpaks each month.

I swear my barn has one barnshipping day per week, or at least it feels that way. So even if I missed the barnshipping day, the next day is never far off. So to me it’s not a hugh advantage. But I can see where it is an added perk. Just not this majorexicitingholdyourbreathsodazzling perk I was expecting.Free shipping any day is nice… I just was expecting something more based on how Sarah described it.

I guess it’s a lesson to underpromise over deliver rather than vice versa

I think no matter what they offered some people would find it not good enough.

To me this is a good perk. I do not think she over promised on this one.

I believe the program that allows you once a week free shipping to your barn and the program that had free embroidery are two different things. Free shipping to your barn is just having a barn (which I do have set up). The free embroidery involved multiple customers shipping to the same address.

shrug maybe it’s megaexciting to some. I’m not megaexcited. But it’s all good. I still love their products, customer service, and order to take advantage of the free barnsaver shipping. But it’s not enough to lure me into starting Smartpaks or ordering everything there the way I used to. But other’s mileage may vary.

You are right for commercial boarding barns, there is one delivery day a week. I would always select the option to have it delivered to the barn on Wednesday, which is our day, so it would ship for free. However with barn saver, it (literally) combines your order with other boarders. I had box show up with my name on it and it had a lovely Antares girth in it. Luckily, I am honest and found the correct owner. I guess there are some other people in the world you may have to worry about. With free shipping on everything, I feel I can now ship to my house, any time I want, without hassling my barn manager who gets bombarded every week with boxes on her back steps. So I consider this a small win.

The way it comes to our barn, the box might have multiple customers’ orders inside but each item inside has a specific person’s name on it. In many many years I have only seen the name labels get mixed up ONCE (and it was a very obvious mix up). I have never seen there be unlabeled items inside a box. Sometimes each customer gets her own box. Sometimes the boxes are mixed. Depends on the size of the items. Always the individual items inside the boxes are labeled.

I am surprised that someone would take an item that came to the barn that they hadn’t ordered. That wouldn’t happen where I board. At most they’d just leave the mystery item in the box without trying to figure out whose it was but no one would ever take it knowing it wasn’t theirs. What’s WRONG with people? There’s an invoice in the box, so if there’s a mystery item you can look and see whose it is. I wouldn’t want to board with people PERIOD who would open a box of shared items and take something that isn’t theirs. That sucks. I would be worried about my stuff 24/7 if I boarded with people like that-- not just on the day a package arrived

WHERE are you seeing this? I just signed in to my account and I still just see free shipping on smartpaks over $40 and any order over $75.

AND I just took my horse off of one of his supplements so his smartpak dropped from $52 to $34 and I can’t figure out if they are going to charge me shipping for it or not.

I LOVED the free embroidery. Just took advantage of the calendar code this month and ordered two more pads I didn’t particularly need, because the monogramming was free.

Free shipping on anything, any time is a nice thing to have. I’ll admit that there’s no reason things couldn’t just go to the barn, but sometimes I’m ordering non-barn stuff, like why did the breeches I just bought need to go to the barn to be free? They weren’t in a box with Smartpaks! So it does make sense, and I appreciate it. I was happy to see the email about it this morning, but took reading it a few times for it to be clear that it was everything, any time.
