Tried live chat and text again today midday so as to avoid any time zone issues, both still unavailable. Completely surprised to find the order arrived today (day 15after paying) despite the site saying last night it hadn’t shipped. So weird. Still not happy with not being able to get in contact with someone without calling (and yes, I’m a millennial and I hate calling people) AND it taking two weeks to arrive. Call me spoiled with Amazon and the like but I detest that it took SO long for in stock items to arrive.
My order hasn’t shipped in a few days. Called them- 35 minute wait. They said to text so tried that and was told that texting wasn’t available.
Definitely a bit concerning. Not sure if it’s an internal company issue or part of the effect of all other shipping, product availability and staffing issues all companies are experiencing.
@ kaya842- Agreed ! Super frustrating
In a way, I think Amazon “ruined” things for e-commerce and consumer expectations. They have it so you can order something and have it ship out that day. Or tomorrow. Or before the weekend. That level of immediacy is nearly unachievable by smaller companies.
Thanks for your perspective in the thread. I used to work in Dover’s warehouse, then worked in CS. It’s a whole different perspective when you’ve been on the other side!
The reviews Clanter posted are in line with what I have heard from people who worked at SP. Heck, we had SP reps come to Dover back when I was working there.
I don’t know where people are getting this level of service from Amazon either. Maybe if you have Prime, but I don’t and I feel like those orders get pushed to the back of the line. It often takes over a week for my stuff to even leave the warehouse, and that was pre-pandemic.
Placed an order July 19 that has not yet shipped. I didn’t need my order immediately but this is excessive. My auto-ship Smartpaks went out a few days late but not terrible (scheduled for 7/22, went out 7/26). I had made a point of getting this order in by the deadline to ship with my auto-ship
I’ve had proiblems like this around the holidays from other retailers, which is always fun when you wonder if you’ll have the gift in time but not completely unexpected. I don’t expect that I’ll quit Smartpak entirely but I definitely will not count on their shipping being quick and reliable. Good news for local tack shops
I think it depends greatly on what you order.
From private suppliers it can easily take a week for things to ship. Items that are prime frequently get to me the next day or in two days if I choose the prime shipping option.
It is rare for them to not ship in a timely manner if they say they are going to ship in a timely manner.
That does not mean there are not lots of things they say outright that they will not get to me in a longer time frame.
I was just surprised by Chewy. Typically I order from Chewy and I have my order in two days. The order I placed last Friday morning has not arrived yet.
I only order things sold by or shipped from Amazon. Never anything that is fully third party.
I just canceled my smartpaks today. I’m sad as I really like the company, but the repeated delays in shipping my smartpaks have finally pushed me over. I ordered a Mad Barn supplement on Monday last week and had it on Wednesday - to Connecticut from Canada. SP billed my supplements on the 17th and still had no estimated ship date today, from MA.
I spoke with a wonderful CS rep, who let me vent about all the problems and how I’d rather have my supplements on time than more $10 gift cards. I suggested she add a note directing their marketing team to look at the threads in these forums to see how many people are having issues and going elsewhere. Fingers crossed they sort it out soon.
We are within short distances from six million square feet of Amazon warehouses, with Prime we are often receiving orders within two hours
I started buying Mad Barn products last year and they’ve really been great to work with. Every time I send them an email, they get back to me in a timely manner. Their products have shipped when they say they will ship. I had a recent order get destroyed in transit and returned to sender by UPS- super easy to just get a new one sent out. The one thing I don’t like is the packaging on their W-3 oil, which is so unwieldy I bought a drink dispenser to pour it into so I don’t get kicked out of my barn for annoying the staff, but they’ve just redesigned that due to customer feedback, so perhaps I will like it better. (My horse would also like to note that he does not prefer the taste of Amino Trace, but he eats plastic for fun, so maybe tell your horse to keep an open mind on that.)
evidently this thread has gotten to SmartPak, my older daughter has her horse some sort of supplement from them, she said today SmartPak sent her an email saying her shipment was being delayed a few days so Here is $10 discount. The delay really does not effect her horse since we have her shipments being made early any way
I think SmartPak might be resolving the shipping delays. I placed an order on August 18th (Thursday) and they sent an email on August 23rd (Tuesday) that the package had shipped out.
This is in comparison to the last few orders I’ve placed which took around 2 weeks in between billing/initial purchase and shipping out the order.
My smartpaks are delayed this month. I’ve been ok so far (barely), but I’ve finally going to be out before they arrive. My other order (succeed paste) has been on time since my issue a few months ago and I have an extra box sitting around just in case. I should probably push up one month of smartpaks but I’m trying to save some money…
I will say I got someone else’s paperwork in my Succeed this month which is concerning…
Bummer. August gave a glimmer of hope of smartpaks shipping on time but September is a no go really thought it was fixed!
I’ve been told by a friend who works for SP that all of the delays this summer have been a combination of labor shortage due to warehouse staff getting laid up by the 'rona, labor shortage due to people quitting because of wages relative to gas prices, and parent company not listening while SP management has been trying to argue with them to up their labor budget for the remainder of the year so that they can hire new and/or retain current employees.
I try to cut them a break because (having worked retail) I know there’s only so much they can do and (working at a manufacturing company) I know that supply chains are a disaster world-over, but it does bother me that there doesn’t seem to at least be an effort to get the autoships out on time. I only have one autoship supplement with them and it’s not life or death for my horse, he can go a few days without it and be fine, but I know for other people it’s not that easy.
I just placed an order from SmartPak for the first time since the MSM fiasco I had a few months ago. I tried desperately to find any other vendor that had the poultice + paper I wanted that wouldn’t charge me freight shipping, but I couldn’t. I’m doing barn saver shipping, so in theory it should ship out tomorrow.
I’m counting on it being here by Halloween
I just had a good experience. I ordered 3 pairs of hoof boots on Thursday and they arrived today.
I have to say that while I’ve received emails telling me my orders are late shipping, they’ve not actually been late arriving. Sorry that other people are having so many issues! It’s been a tough year. I’ve heard from friends in the shipping industry that the workloads have been through the roof.
