Not sure if anyone will get the reference (Avatar: The Last Airbender), but I think Azula would be a cute/fitting name. Little psycho sister.
I love the top pic with the fangs hanging out. She just oozes naughty.
Doesn’t she?! She just fits right in with the rest of them!
It’s funny you say that, because I have a friend who insists Hammie is a bobcat, or part bobcat, despite the fact that he’s not nearly as big as a bobcat, has a large tail, and his favorite thing in the world is to flop down in my lap and drool, purr, and make air biscuits while I rub his tummy. Not typical bobcat behavior.
Just checking in to see if any new pics of the baby and her buddy. Hint Hint!
Um - not really, but here’s one of her and Maximus Imperious.
She had her booster shot today, and she’s up to 3lbs, 4 oz. I came home today to find her asleep on the bed near Mick and Sassy. Not with them, but near them. Even that’s an improvement.
Thanks! What cuties!
Adorable - refresh my brain please = how many cats do you own ?
Itty Bitty counts as two - extra personality !
So four cats and Itty and Bitty = 6 ?
Um … 8 in the house (2 are indoor and outdoor), and 7 barn cats. Though I suspect that number will grow; the neighbors have been on vacation for almost a month and their barn cats are starting to come over. They seem fat enough, but still.
So, out of ALL the indoor cats, Itty Bitty really has just one best friend? How does that happen?
Is she that bad a little kitty?
And 2- Do you regularly feed your barn cats? I’m considering a couple barn cats and just wondered.
And 3- what do you feed your indoor cats?
I’m not far behind you. I am going to have to limit my numbers though, I am running out of sofa space.
Yea, it’s pretty much just Hammie! He glommed on to her from the start. It’s only recently that the others are finally starting to ‘warm up’ to her (e.g., not slapping her when she gets too close).
My barn cats are not typical barn cats. They get fed twice a day. And they sleep in large crates at night. Those great big $40 extra-large dog crates from Walmart that lets them have beds, litter boxes, and food/water dishes. In the summer, they’re covered in fly sheets; in the winter I put up foamboard insulation and winter blankets. Last winter, when we had that deep freeze, two were boarded at the vet and the rest stayed in the house in their crate. They were quite comfortable. All are spayed/neutered, and get their vaccines annually. I’ve literally watched them all laying in the front yard not twenty feet away from the mama rabbit who lives in the old rose bush, just laying there while she hops around and eats. They’ll occasionally catch a rat or bird, but honestly, they’re not really earning their keep around here.
Haha… the barn cats where I feed get fed canned food twice a day, dry food all the time and heated beds in the winter.
They leave me plenty of presents to clean up anyway.
Rabbits, voles, mice, birds, a baby weasel, and the list goes on. They’re downright chubby at the moment, don’t see how they get anything.
Your barn kitties have it made!
It sounds like the other cats are warming up to Itty Bitty.
7 is the most cats I have had (I have 4 now). When I had 7, I asked at the vet clinic if I was the client with the most cats. They said “Not even close.”
I have 6 now. Used to have 12. The numbers have dwindled in the last two years.
5 fo the current ones are what I call the OG. Baler is the interloper. Only Jack and Bonnie have discovered he is useful to snug with at night - him being the size of a smallish pillow and just about as squishy. The rest of them range from outright disdain to meh. They would all hate Itty Bitty. Except Baler, But he would probably be too rough with her.
Itty Bitty is getting BIGGER !
She always looks So happy AND like she’s ‘calculating’ her next Ham attack !
Thanks for sharing your cats - so glad you gave her a forever home.
Such a cutie! Thanks for sharing!
I have one barn cat, and he gets fed dry food twice a day (when I feed the horses). That doesn’t discourage him from catching mice and bird
AWW. she looks so innocent and precious. Is she becoming a lap kitty for you yet?
You REALLY are a great kitty photographer as you capture such emotional shots.
Thanks for your efforts in entertaining us. We’re living vicariously through Itty Bitty.
