So I did a thing today

Old lady Naku is obsessed with brooms (the real straw ones). If I leave one where she can get to it, she will give it a good haircut. I have no idea why. Our other cat, Visitor, is obsessed with the plastic string ties on garbage bags. He will chew on them for hours. He doesn’t eat them, just munches.

Watching the big kitty and the tiny kitty almost makes me want to get Naku a couple of kittens. She was a breeding queen at Harvard Medical School’s cat colony until she was 4 or 5, and by all reports, she loved her kittens. I got her because she did not do well in the female cat colony when she was in between litters.

I worry because of her age (20) and because she is deaf, and because she is on a urinary diet. It is dry food only, because she will not eat wet food, so I wonder… if I got kittens and they liked wet food but not dry food, would that work?

I don’t see why not. As long as they don’t eat her prescription food - and you could feed them separately - then I think she might enjoy that.

My mom’s cat used to open the cabinets where my mom kept her plastic decorations. She kept finding pieces of Christmas wreaths and fall leaves.

I asked my mom why she didn’t just move the stuff , and she said there wasn’t anywhere else to put it

The itty-bitty went for her first vaccination today. She was very brave - explored the table, sat on my shoulder, introduced herself to the vet and vet tech - but she’s been quiet for the last hour or so. Don’t think I’ve seen a kitten really have a reaction to the vaccine before.

Ahhhh! She is very brave! I hope she is back to her usual self soon!

Mine fight going into the carrier until we get home and I open the door. After that they want to sit in the carrier and act all tough.

She’s already back to her normal self.

She’s so little, there was no fighting the crate. I packed a few toys for her, as well. Thought I had the vet tech talked into taking her, but she’s standing firm on only two cats. Who only has two cats?! So boring!

She’s up to 2lbs, 5oz! Vet said she was very healthy, and looks good.

Glad she is feeling normal again so quickly. I always noticed that my cats seemed groggy after getting home from the vet, no matter the reason for the visit. I think maybe it was just the stress of the car and the strange place that tired them out.

Mine just cuss me out and run and hide, so maybe it’s just that I’ve never actually seen it before.

She was absolutely fine this morning - wanted out of the crate at 5:30am with Hammie, ate well, played and ran and wore herself out just in time for second breakfast and to go back in her crate before I had to leave for work.

Are any of the other cats interacting with her or is it still just Hammie?

Mostly just Ham. At least the others are getting more used to her now.

She is settling in more and more - spent most of the afternoon asleep on bed. Even curled up in my lap for a bit.

Have you decided on a name?

Nope!

I lean towards Angelica, but the last cat I named Angel was psychotic.
