SO SO SO excited about Soprano!!

I am eagerly expecting my first foal by Soprano (Sandro Hit/Contender) out of my firstborn, FHF Ravenna (Royal Z II/May Sherif). I love, love, love this stallion and having learned about the latest news of his offspring I really can’t wait. In addition to being GOV stallion of the year last year, he has sired 4 horses chosen for the Dressage Young Horse World Championships and one of his offspring was Reserve Champion at the Horse of the Year Show in England. I think one of the most remarkable things about these achievements is that Soprano has not been used that much yet such a high percentage of his offspring are such wonderful performance horses. While these horses have all been dressage horses, I’m looking at Soprano as a Hunter sire also with the right mare.
I am personally hoping for a black (he’s homozygous black), very athletic (like Soprano and Ravenna) gorgeous (also like both parents) filly with tons of chrome (like Ravenna). I don’t think I’m asking too much.

Couldn’t find any mare pictures on your website??

My website is in desperate need of work. One of those things I’m sure I’ll get to when I have time.

Thank you, Danksbreeder, for your very kind comments about Soprano. I would like to make one correction. Soprano was not GOV Stallion of the Year, he was tied in 2010 with two other stallions for producing the highest number of premium foals in North America.

I would like to take this opportunity to share a few highlights of the accomplishments of Soprano’s offspring in Europe and North America.

Europe:

Grevens Sa Va (Soprano x Romancier): Selected to be part of Denmark’s five horse team competing in the Five-Year Old Division of the 2010 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany. Grevens Sa Va, was 5th overall receiving the highest score (86.2 percent) of all of the Danish horses competing in the Five-Year Old Division. She was also the highest scoring mare at the World Championships.

Sopran Morso (Soprano x Akinos): At five years old, this Danish Warmblood gelding by Soprano was also selected to be part of Denmark’s five horse team competing in the Five-Year Old Division of the 2010 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany.

Now 8-years old Soprano Morso, has been purchased by Switzerland’s Top International Grand Prix rider Marcela Krinke. In November 2013, Marcela Krinke ranked in the #1 position in FEI World Cup Standings after leg three of the World Cup 2013/2014. In September 2013, Soprano’s son Sopran Morso competed under Danish International Grand Prix Rider Sidsel Johansen and won at MB2 with an impressive score of 78.553%. Congratulations and best of luck to his new owner Marcela Krinke.

Don Soprano (Soprano x Don Schufro): Qualified for the 2011 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in the Five-Year Old Division.

Chaigon (Soprano x Hertug): Out of 550 young dressage horses that competed in Sweden, 69 were selected for the 2008 Swedish Young Horse Championships. Chaigon was among those 69 and then one of 10 selected to compete in the Champions’ Finale, placing 9th. Chaigon is currently competing very successfully in Europe at the Prix St. Georges level, scoring as high as 72 percent. He was tied for fourth place in the Seven-Year Old Final Prix St. Georges at the 2011 Swedish Young Horse Championships…less than four percentage points separated Chaigon from the first place horse.

Parma (Soprano/Davignon): Has the high distinction of receiving States Premium mare status and was selected for the prestigious Rastede (Germany) Mare Show. She was also selected for and sold at the prestigious October 2007 Autumn Elite Auction in Vechta, Germany.
Samba: (Soprano/Donnerhall): At four-years old, Samba was graded as runner-up champion in the Danish Warmblood Main Stud Book with excellent marks.

SoPretty: (Soprano/Cenzus): October 2011 Horse of the Year Show in England Reserve Champion and Best Warmblood Sporthorse. In August 2008, SoPretty won the Supreme In Hand Class at the Chaps UK Championship Show in England.

North America:

Sonata: (Soprano/Harvard/Aktuell): 2009 mare by Soprano (owned and bred by Olde Country Farm). In August 2012, as a 3-Year Old she won the German Oldenburg Verband class at the VADA NOVA USDF Show at Morven Park - August 11-12, 2012.

In September 2013, Sonata placed 2nd just behind Totil Hit in the Dressage at Devon 2013 German Oldenburg Individual Breed Class with a score of 80.8%…with 28 horses in this very competitive class. Sonata’s score was the second highest score received by any horse in any of the other Dressage at Devon Individual Breed Classes (just behind Totil Hit). Sonata’s breeder/owner is Olde Country Farm/Alain Seheut.

Soul Power (Soprano/Macsen’s Sword xx/Hagley xx): A 3-year old gelding by Soprano competed in the 2013 United States Eventing Association (USEA) Future Event Horse classes with the following results:
May 12, 2013: Greystone Farm USEA Future Event Horse 3-Year Old Class - 1st place 79.40

Savannah: (Soprano/Diamant): 2012 Danish Warmblood Filly by Soprano was Champion Filly at the 2013 USDF Breeders Championship Final. As a yearling filly, Savannah was ranked as the #1 Danish Warmbloood filly in the USA. In September 2012, Savannah was awarded Champion Filly status at the 2012 Danish Warmblood Inspection in Folsom, Louisiana.

April 2014 First Time Out: Savannah was Champion Filly at the Central Texas Dressage Society’s USDF Bluebonnet Classic II.

Southern Belle: (Soprano/Diamant): 2010 Danish Warmblood Filly by Soprano was Reserve Champion Filly at the 2013 USDF Breeders Championship Final.

Sugar Magnolia: (Soprano/Weltmeyer): At only two months of age, this 2013 filly by Soprano was Champion Filly at her RPSI inspection in September 2013 with a score of 8.6 for movement. When the RPSI tallied their end of year inspection results, Sugar Magnolia was awarded Reserve Champion Filly, finishing 2nd in the entire USA.

Shana’s Romance: (Soprano x Out of Cyte/Cytosk): As a two-year old, Shana competed at the East Coast Arabian Championships, receiving an 81.5% in Sport Horse In-Hand and a blue ribbon with Judge’s comments of “covers ground, good reach, plenty of power, what a mover, and lots of potential.” Shana was 2013 Reserve National Champion for Two Year Old Half Arab Fillies.

Shedaizy: (Soprano/Rio Grande/Rollicking xx): Owned and bred by Marne Martin-Tucker. At 3 years old, Shedaizy won several Recognized Training Level classes, Materiale classes, and was awarded the high score Open Oldenburg Award at PVDA Ride for Life.

Canada:

Electra: (Soprano/Idocus/ Wanroj): Bred by Martha Haley of Never Say Never Farm in Canada. At 3 years old Electra went to her first show competing at Training Level. She won two classes with scores in the 70’s and was Champion Mare.

Alain, thanks for clarifying about the “GOV Stallion of the Year” thing. I was scratching my head about that one, as I have never heard of that title…

And yes, Soprano was very high up on the list in 2010 for producing premium foals for OHBS/GOV. I think he was tied with Sir Donnerhall (Shakespeare may have had one more - will have to check my stats), and, IIRC, Starlight came in just behind them. So there were four Sandro Hit sons at the top of the list for that year.

Congrats, Soprano is really producing very well!

I have had two by Soprano and not only do I love him, I love working with Alain. I will be breeding to Soprano again in a year or two with a different mare. The two offspring that I have had are absolutely spectacular. I am keeping the filly for my breeding program - she’s that talented. Of course, she’s only a yearling now and currently looks like a yak  otherwise I would post pics.

I am so glad to hear others speak so highly of Soprano - I am one of his biggest fans!

Sorry for the incorrect info. He’s my stallion of the year ;). I,too would like to mention that to only is Soprano a great stallion but working with such a knowledgeable, helpful owner is an added bonus.

I am absolutely new to this forum. I have been breeding warmbloods for a very long time. I currently have four Soprano babies with one ready to drop and will be breeding back. It’s so exciting knowing that Soprano is producing world class offspring who are now starting to compete very successfully in Europe in the upper levels. I couldn’t be happier with all of mine and feel that they are world class horses.

I have competed through Grand Prix on my home-bred stallion, Boy Oh Boy. Many of my offspring have won at Dressage at Devon including Boy Oh Boy’s dam, who was twice Champion Mare at Devon. I think it is wonderful to have a stallion of Soprano’s caliber here in the U.S. His babies have it all–conformation, movement and the best of all, incredible character. My goal is to produce another home-bred Grand Prix horse for ME.

Thank you, Diana, for your kind comments and support. You have much for which to be proud.

Following is a link to a video on You Tube of my now three year old Soprano filly Sonata (Soprano/Harvard/Aktuell). Your yearling filly Sassy reminds me of Sonata.

We are thrilled to announce that Soprano’s daughter, Grevens Sa Va (Soprano/Blue Hors Romancier), competed in her first LA6 Class (Prix St. George’s) in Denmark and won the class with 76%. Congratulations to her owners/breeders, Stutteri Greven, and rider, Camilla Ahlers Pederson.

This is so great to hear…and one of the reasons I was so disappointed in my failed ET is because my donor mare had similar blood to Grevens Sa Va and I had bred to Soprano.

Alain, I think you need to point out that not only is Greven doing PSG at only 7 yrs of age (isn’t that right), but she’s also taken a year off to have a foal AND her rider is only 21-22 yrs old.

We really are lucky to have a stallion of Soprano’s caliber in the US.

Didn’t you say one of your homebreds by Soprano has done pretty well on the line as well?

Is there a possibility that he will be presented to the AHS?

Thank you, Kyzetke, for your very kind comments. Soprano also has a very nice son in Sweden named Chaigon, ridden by Maria Borg, who is also winning at Prix St. George’s with scores in the 70’s.

And yes, I do have a three-year old filly by Soprano that went to her first show in hand this month. It was a very good experience for her…first time in the trailer and off the farm since her inspection. She took everything in stride and the highlight was when she won the GOV class with 79.7%.

I have a 3 year-old mare, Electra NSN, by Soprano out of my ster Idocus x Wanroij mare. With only a couple of months under saddle, she went on her first trailer ride, competed at her first show, and won all her Training level classes, scoring up to 70%. The judge commented on her excellent rhythm and very good balance for her age. That was early August, 2012. Since then she has continued to develop so very well under saddle, as she is relaxing her back more as she gets stronger for carrying her rider. All gaits are very good, but her canter is especially amazing - so much jump!

I plan to use Soprano again in the future.

Here is a link of one of her tests, after barely two months under saddle:

Soprano is lovely and seems to be producing the goods as far as offspring results go. He would be a great cross for my Federweisser x Weltruhm mare; if he was approved VhW…

We have a three week old colt, FHF Sorpreso by Soprano out of FHF Ravenna (Royal Z II / May Sherif). He is a gorgeous bay colt with a small star and three white feet. He was doing pirouettes in his stall the first day. I will put photos up on my website in the next few days. His mother is on the website now. I did manage to find some time to update the website.

I just ultrasonded my two mares in foal to Soprano and both have healthy, active babies at their 5 month check ups. The Danish Horse magazine, Ridehesten, just published that the Soprano son, Sopran Morso has been sold to Swiss rider, Marcela Krinke. Marcela Krinke is ranked in the #1 position in FEI World Cup Standings after leg three of the World Cup 2013/2014.

My Soprano yearling, FHF Sorpreso (Soprano/Royal Z II/ May Sherif) is turning out to be the best temerament horse Ive ever had. He also happens to have gorgeous movement and is beautiful. He’s so easy to work with.

Alain, I LOVE Soprano! I was immediately taken by the first photo I saw of him. So happy to hear of his successes and those of his offspring! Congratulations!

How exciting about your upcoming foals, Danskbreeder! I’m looking forward to seeing photos of them when the time comes!

Love Soprano to:
Here is a boy we bred, just 3.5 yrs old and really good mind, great ballance and work ethic. About 18hh now.
Determinato (Soprano/Ferro)
Thinking Soprano for my Donnerhall mare in the spring…

Is there a possibility that he will be presented to the AHS?[/QUOTE]

And any possibility he might be presented to the Hanoverian Verband?
