Socks--in or out?

Back in the old days, before tall boots had zippers and breeches fastened with little buttons at the end of the leg and were shorter in length (e.g. ended right below the fullest part of the calf), putting tall socks on over your breeches helped keep your breeches in place and, if you used silky slippery socks, made it easier to pull your boots up.

But, now days with zippered boots those advantages no longer apply.

NoSuchPerson - I’m old enough to remember pull on boots! Even then I wore socks the regular way.

Holy cow, you just made me feel OLD! I still have boot pulls and boot jacks in my tack room.
