Solid Black Stallions?

Anyone know of any approved “D” or “R” line stallions that are solid black – no white markings at all? I know there are some “S” line ones. I found Rubinero, but he does look like he may have one white coronet. I also found a Hanoverian stallion named “Dramatic” (Don Frederico x Weltmeyer), but I can’t seem to be able to find out where he stands. I learned of him here:

This same website has a cute Trakehner “Hibiscus” (Latimer x Hohenstein) solid black. Anyone know anything about him?

How about Rubignon? I think he is solid black. He used to stand in the us but has now gone to Europe. He throws nice quiet babies.

Wow – Windfall looks really interesting!
Donatelli looks fantastic! – I can’t get the video to work on my Mac though! I did find some videos of some of his offspring on youtube. Very nice! I’d love to see a side confo shot of him, but even if I don’t, I think I may be sold on him!
Sonntagskind looks stunning as well, but I’m more apt to lean toward Donatelli, as he’s got more foals on the ground, and is competing at GP.

Any more ideas?

Although not the bloodlines you are looking for, I don’t think Escudo II has any white (or very little).

Or…if you are looking for fresh, there is a Don Frederico son up here in Canada that was imported this summer. He is Hanoverian approved and out of a Lauries x Weltmeyer dam. His name is Dampezzo. Let me know if you want info on him.

Don Frederico has a white left rear pastern. And I’m not 100% sure, but it looks like Rubinero even has some white on the inside of his left rear pastern. I know, of course, that there’s always Sandro Hit and several of his sons, but I do love the “D” & “R” stallions too!

Actually, I’m not even sure how the genetics for white markings work. Is it safe to assume that my chances of a solid offspring are better if both sire and dam are solid? In any case, a solid black ofspring is strongly preferred!

I have a black filly from Dressage Royal. She has a tiny white clover between her nostrils and a white coronet behind. Dressage Royal is by Donnerhall out of a Rubinstein mare, is black and has a bit of white too.

You will find that Dramatic DOES have a tiny white sock, offside hind.

Hibiscus is a lovely boy. He was owned by a Trak stud that had a full dispersal last year and I do not know where he ended up.

Rubin Magic does look lovely! I don’t think, however, that the broker ships him to the US. He’s not on the US list.

I am trying to produce a solid black foal. My mare is homozygous black, no white markings, so as long as a stallion is black, even if he carries chestnut, the foal will be black. Theoretically, I could use a chestnut stallion, provided he does not carry any agouti and has no white markings, but it’s unlikely that most owners have had their chestnut stallions color tested.
