We named my Icelandic, Dovahkiin, so he had his own theme song.
Sorry for the double post, now it won’t let me delete one.
Not sure of the exact title but “Oh My Darling Clementine”.
I made up new lyrics to it to fit my one horse and I used to sing it to him, especially when I had to walk him out to the only paddock I had to walk my horses to use it.
It went something like this:
Oh my darling, little Chocolate, What a little $hit you are,
But I love you anyway cause you’re really not on par.
For my mustang, it is Ho Hey by the Lumineers…I used to sing it while trail riding with him in the mountains.
“I belong with you
You belong with me
You’re my sweetheart”
He’s not a sweet horse, but for some reason that is his song.
My horse has a lot.
Dear Theodosia and That Would be Enough from Hamilton
March to the Sea - Twenty One Pilots
Alone Together - Fall Out Boy
Ride by Twenty One Pilots keeps coming on while I’m riding and now I want to do a freestyle to it someday.
My old Mr P (RIP) - “Baby Elephant Walk” - it was his trot music and, when I heard it for the first time, the light-bulbs flashed as “YES!!!”
My mare Hon (RIP) - Shania Twain’s “Feel like a woman” - she was as upbeat to ride as the song, could do medium trot with her hind legs apart and was a simply fun horse to ride tacked/un-tacked … but always with a bridle! For some reason, she just didn’t like being ridden in a halter - could be on the buckle but just had to have a bridle.
My mare Ubby (not RIP but retired) - always reminds me of the Barron Knights “Sit Song” - a comedic take-off of Barbara Woodhouse’s training style. She reminds me of that stereotypical games mistress in many ways and then in other ways, the “Trevor” in the song. "Trevor, Sit, TREVOR, SIT … SIT, SIT
“Fat Bottomed Girls” by Queen
No wait…that’s me.
Michael Bublé’s The Way You Look Tonight.
Can’t explain why.
My sister’s mare was named Take it Easy-after the song. Whenever I hear it, I remember her and Easy.
New age flamenco…mine’s a PRE
A song that stuck with me for some reason with my gelding that passed away was “American Honey” by Lady Antebellum. It brings back good memories of him and I smile every time I hear it.
My mare’s song is “Easy Silence” by the Dixie Chicks.
Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake. Whenever I hear “I got that sunshine in my pocket,” I think about my snuggly, cheerful little QH.
Malda, I love that name. I’ve met a Shadowmere in person before… never a Dovahkiin. I love that soundtrack: Betheseda has some incredible music. 2 years ago in NEDA Fall I watched a friesian compete to the Dovahkiin soundtrack!
This is, I think, my late GSD’s song:
“In My Life” - The Beatles (and I am not a super mushy beatles fan either!)
My good boy Spooky (also dearly departed) was definitely this song:
Keepsake - State Radio
however, riding him to my music playlist, he always would get extra swing to his stride to this: 19-2000 - Gorillaz
“Fix You”, by Coldplay. My little sister made a video project about my rescue horse with health issies when she was in college. The soundtrack was that song. It was very meaningful when she made it; but it is especially wonderful to have as a memorial now that he has passed.
My horse’s is “You’ve got a Friend” by James Taylor.
It was given to him by the woman who pulled him off the track whom I got him from. He always has a “friend” in her, winter spring summer or fall, and now that duty lies on me too. Love the song and love my horse. She couldn’t have picked a better song for him!
My mare is sassy and marches to the beat of her own drum, but doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. My sister actually told me years ago that she thought the song Raise A Little Hell by Trooper would be our theme song. Too funny! The lyrics really do sum up the relationship my mare and I have
Jingle Bell Rock, I love to tell my pony ‘Pick up your feet’ because he trips. Everywhere
Birdy ‘Wings’.
My horse is a black mare who looks very much like the one at the end of this ad. And my boyfriend says it makes him think of her, and now anytime I hear it, I think of her and this ad too.

I still cry every time I watch it!!!
My old retired horse and I have a theme song about us: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3TKMv92wHuk
It is hard when they get old. This song always makes me cry thinking of galloping over big things on him when he was young.
For my TB it was the Grateful Dead’s Casey Jones.
I started singing it to him one late post-show night while I was cutting down his braids & it relaxed his usually fussy self.
For TWH #1: Stewball Was a Racehorse - somehow the rhythm matched his.
For the WB: the Too Fat Polka - singing it to him as I rode his wide-barreled self
Somehow Rotten Pony doesn’t have a song.
I’ll have to think about that.
TWH #2 has yet to find “his” song, but then we’ve only had a year together.
He has such a personality, it will come…
