Sore No More - Human Use

Has anyone actually used Sore No More on themselves and felt a difference? If so, what did you feel and how quickly did you feel a difference?

I noticed that when I use another liniment, I instantly feel the effects on my hand and it lasts for awhile, even after washing my hands immediately. But, when I use SNM, I don’t feel much on my hands. I’ve thought about using them on my calves but just hasn’t done it yet.

all the time, it works, just without any tingly sensation.

When you say it works, what does it do to make you know it is working?

I use it all the time.
Funny story, my mom recently got a knee replacement and her PT was working her pretty hard after. She’d been using Sore No More for her muscles but didn’t want to tell the PT. One day PT was out (came to house for Mom) and saw the bottle sitting out and asked about it. Mom admitted she used it and PT said- while professionally I can’t recommend it to you, I’ll tell that I’m a horse person and that stuff works better than anything else.

Ummm my pain goes away

I guess I’ll be the odd man out and say I felt nothing. Pretty sure I have the Performance Ultra version and I used it on my back and knees after a particularly rough day at a clinic and there was no difference. It’s been sitting in my tack box, unused.

I’ve used it on myself and would say that I don’t feel the same difference that I do when I use some other products.

which other products have you used that worked for you?

I really like the Cryoderm cold therapy. A little goes a long way so I buy the 4 oz gel and then I can have one in various places. Be aware that it does have a peppermint/menthol smell.

I typically use it at night before I go to bed, or after finishing some activity that I think will leave me sore.

Is that safe for horses?

I have a bottle of SNM in my shower - it is long expired now (like a couple years) but I still occasionally use it. I remember it being extremely effective for pain following a no stirrups lesson on my thighs and calves, but that was before it expired. I think the efficacy is lowering the farther away I get from the expiration date, but there’s still a lot in the bottle so I haven’t chucked it yet.

I have psoriatic arthritis and pretty painful, stiff hands. When I use SNM on the horses it helps my hands a little, when I use Absorbine it helps my hands ALOT.

The liniment doesn’t help me. The clay poultice does but I have to wrap it and the rigamorole is a pain. Plus I can’t wrap my shoulders, lol

I have tried a lot of human and horse products. What works best for me, in terms of killing pain and lasting awhile is “Zim’s Max Freeze”. I buy it at WalMart. It comes in a roll-on, a gel, and a spray.

I like arnica by itself that I can find at health food stores. Arnica oil. Seems to work better for me than the gel or cream, though a little messier.

I use Arnicare that I buy from Walmart and it’s worked wonders. I’m going to try the cold therapy ones listed above. Thanks!

I don’t know why not. Tho it does feel REALLY cold for a while after you put it on so I might put a small amount in a small area on a horse and see how it reacted before I slathered it on.

I’m wondering about the efficacy of SNM too, I recently bought another bottle for my horse and kind of regret it, since I don’t think it does much.

I have used T-relief gel for pets (Traumeel) with good results, but my favorites remain Ramard Relief Gel and Biofreeze gel or roll-on.
I have also used Equi-block Capsaicin, but that made my skin burn.

SNM is the only product I’ve used that makes my hands feel wonderful when I’m applying it to the horses, and I’ve had zero results with other arnica products made for humans when trying them on myself. Don’t know what makes SNM different for me.

I grew up in an Absorbine Jr-using household - it was the family go-to - but haven’t used it as an adult, so it’s been a very long time. Might be time to try it again.

Lol funny you should ask as I did just this morning! I was using it on my horse, and since my back has been hurting a bit decided why not try it myself. It may just be a placebo effect but my back does seem to feel better!

I’ve found SNM works better on my (many) sore parts than Voltaren does…
