This is it! Not everyone wants to be in a show barn or pay for a training board…Some of us like to manage their horses themselves.

I don’t know where I’d go locally that either the care isn’t terrible (cheap feed, very dusty setups, lots of horses sold and therefore in and out so the pasture herds aren’t stable) or so over the top (too $$$$ and just not somewhere I’d feel like I fit) that I’m just thankful to be here at home.

… Or get a decent boarding barn after months/years on the waiting list. The boarding situation is really dire in some areas and most of us have to make compromises.
