Wateryglen,
What is the name of this astounding treasure trove? I think I may need to preview the loot before March. The LED lights in my current tiara may give out before then. All that riding in the dark, trying to get fit, and flit by the hunters. Tral-la-la…
March is really busy for me with business trips, I’m so bummed…it would be a blast to come join y’all! Hopefully by the fall me and my boy will both be sound and fit and the same time and partake in the merriment.
BS Tango – no reason you can’t come along (without a horse) and par-tay and hang out and shop and basset and kennel visits and-and-and-and …
: )
Tough, Tango,
You’re coming. I didn’t ride last time and I got a tiara!
Betsy said it right: BS.
Well, I’m most likely out of town 3 weeks in March, but if I AM in town, I promise I’ll come car follow! I just can’t commit to anything right now - things are kind of up in the air. It sounds like SO much fun…what a great group!
I’m sending an email directly to all involved re: the schedule/plans/etc. right now (Thursday). Let me know if you don’t get it.
Both trips are brimming full but do pipe up here if you’re interested b/c everybody knows all about the best laid plans …
I’m happy to keep a waiting list. And note, there is no limit, of course, to cartoppers and basset hunting and our private kennel visits, the dinner parties, etc., so there’s room for anyone who wants to participate!
Huntersrest…sent you a pm!
Did not get email.
Errr, Janet – I have to have your email to send you an email!!!
Send me an email at my home address - BetsyP@crosslink.net.
Seriously jealous
I’m very jealous, it sounds like such a lot of fun:)
This is a terribly ignorant question, but how far is it from New York city? We’re hoping to visit friends there sometime 2013, so maybe I should plan for a horsey diversion:cool:
Ganymede-not sure how far mile-wise, but the Boston/NY City/ Washington DC is a well known and well traveled corridor-planes, trains, etc. so there are plenty of ways to travel besides driving if you so desire.
Warrenton and surrounding “horse” towns are literally about an hour’s drive from DC. Once you get away from DC traffic, it is a spectacular trip through the countryside.
3 hours on a $19 bus!
Ganymede,
Please let us know when you are planning to come, and we will plan some merriment for you.
How many do you expect in your retinue? Your royal progression from New York may attract more Hunting Princesses to join you.
(It takes me longer to get to New York than it does Hunter’s Rest. I have to learn what her coach of choice is to fly that fast.)
Yes Ganymede, Hunter’s Rest makes the trip faster than most of us But I live in CT, not far from NY, and would be happy to transport you down to VA for your very own Hunter Princess visit!
it is in my pofile.
Maybe Hunter’s Rest has a Magic Bus! It runs on refreshing libations instead of gas or diesel. Maybe it takes longer than 3 hours but no one cares after they breathe the fumes?
I’m trying to remember that song about a magic bus from the '60s. So now everyone has a pretty good idea how old I am.
Hmm, it sounds like our friends may be somewhere else entirely by 2013 and I forgot they live in New Haven (I always think of them as New York, as it is so close to them. I think). But no problem, I still have a major hankering to get back to the States (I lived in Colorado in 2001) and I have old friends I’d like to visit, plus family in Europe. It would be on the way
Anyway, I’m very ready to be a Hunter Princess. Sadly the retinue will be limited to my husband, but we promise we’ll have a fantastic time.
5 (FIVE) hours on a $19 bus. (sorry. mistyped.) I have a gal who comes down on the Bolt Bus (it goes direct to Vienna Metro station) and it takes her 5 hours.
Ganymede, New Haven is just around the corner from me, so we absolutely can bring you along to VA when the time comes.
Hunting princesses, being independent sorts, do just fine with a small retinue. And I’m sure we can introduce your husband to the other “princess attendants”, or hunting widowers. There is always plenty to keep them occupied and happy while we hunt and talk horses.
We have bedecked with Jewels crowns for the Prince Consorts. Some also have subtle tasteful feather trim. We haven’t worked up to tacky ermine trim.
But, give us time!
(and enough libations from the flasks)
