jingles for Uncle Milo!
Jingles for Milo!! I hope the surgery goes well and he’s feeling better soon!!
Jingling for Uncle Milo! You’re definitely due for some good luck after all your kitty altruism!
Poor Milo! Jingles and hopes for some soft yummy pate or soup for you.
Try the Tiki Cat velvet mousse - that was easily licked up, was a full portion and highly palatable.
Also, the Core Wellness Tiny Tasters were good. Also a full portion that could be licked up. For some of the thicker ones I added a tiny bit of some hot water to make a soup.
That is exactly what I got him! Nice mushy soft stuff.
Kitty Jingles for Milo!
Jingles for Milo!
Milo’s extraction was successful, even x-rayed after to make sure no roots were broken or remained. We opted to keep his lower 2 canines.
Poor guy is still hiding under the bed and I had to pull him out last night and this morning to administer his meds. I wish he was more ‘out of it’ but he seems pretty aware and uncomfortable. He got a 3mg injection of Buprenorphine before he left the vet, and is on a dose of liquid Gabapentin morning and night. Once he starts eating again I have Onsior to give him as well, but he showed no interest in eating last night or this morning, so I’m holding off on that until I know he has some food in his stomach. Just worried about my baby, and I wish I could be WFH so I can keep an eye on him.
Glad Milo’s surgery went well.
Still jingling for him.
will he tolerate your syringe feeding him? If so, slightly wetting down meat-flavored baby food was a go-to when I worked in the ICU. Even if you can get a couple CC into him to start with, it will hopefully help trigger his appetite.
Poor guy. I hope he’s more comfortable tomorrow. Continued jingles for him!!
I was going to say that if you can get a couple of syringes of food into him it might make him feel better. They don’t want to eat because they feel sick and they feel sick because they won’t eat. lather rinse repeat.
Even some baby food might help or some canned tuna juice. Poor fella.
I’ll grab some chicken baby food on the way home and see if he will take to it.
Jingles for Uncle Milo. And Churo too.
@shiloh Thank you for suggesting the baby food! Last night Milo insisted on taking his meals under the bed, but he ate 1.5 jars of baby food and a Friskies ‘lil soups.’ I was able to put his onsior pill in there, and I think that helped a great deal.
I was woken up at 1am (and subsequently throughout the night) by him demanding snuggles and scritches. He also invented a new game called “use the leg of the headboard as a scratching post” that I do not care for, but I’m really happy that he is making progress. Mr. BatCoach is WFH today, so he can keep an eye on him and make sure he continues to eat. I’m really happy to see some progress and hear him purr again.
He is still a bit of a cave troll for now, but he is starting to venture out and ask for interaction. Proof of life under the bed pic:
That seems like a wonderful update (if you are not the leg of the headboard).
So glad he is doing better.
Oh yay! Anything is better than nothing. As far as soups go, also try the Delectables. I have had great success with those.
I had a cat that existed on Temptations treats for several days.
Give him a scritch and a treat from me.
Happy to report that Milo is back to 100%. He has learned how to control his tounge and is back to chowing down on both canned food and kibble. He did great at his vet check on 9/18, I took both boys in since Wheatabix needed his Solensia shot. The techs call Milo “Angel Baby” and Wheata is apty called “Mr. Spicy.” Wheata really does turn into a demon at the vet, he gets quite the reputation, but the second he is back in the car he chills out and is happy as a clam when we get home. Maybe he figures that if he behaves poorly he won’t be invited back to the vet? nice try.
Its great to see Milo’s personality come back. He and his little sister were back to playing puffy-tailed chase and he even started to chew on and catch toys again! Since he is recovering so well and regaining his strength and energy, there is a new power dynamic between the boys Milo is 10 years younger than Wheata, and had a much less dominant personality than him, but now he seems to want to challenge for the kitty crown.
Wonderful news!!! Glad Milo is feeling better but hopefully he can become a benevolent dictator and not pick on Wheata.
His primary operating software is big lovable doofus, so he doesnt start the fights, but he has stopped letting Sheriff Wheata boss him around. Its like he has a newfound confidence.
His favorite method of winning battles for prime nap spots is just to sit on or lean against Wheatabix. Wheatabix then passive aggressively licks Milo against the grain until he gets frustrated and leaves Sometimes it devolved into a snap and swat, but honestly someone needs to take Sherriff Wheatabix down a peg.
Yesterday I saw Milo actually not move from the food bowl when Wheata chirped at him to move. Milo just flicked a tail and kept on chowing down which is a first. Sherif Bix always tries to rule the food stations. I have to make 2 on separate floors of the house since Wheata was such a bully to our old lady cat. Maybe Milo will be a kinder (lazier) ruler than Wheata. Wheata took the job far too seriously, at 15 years old, its time for him to retire.
