Sucha has crossed the bridge

Sucha our 15 year old Golden Retriever passed this morning, she was an amazing pup who was raised with the horses, she enjoyed being with them

as a working dog she was selected volunteer of the year at a local city of over 60,000 people where she worked as a reading dog at the library helping struggling people learn to read, she sat with them as they read to her, she never complained if a reader was having problems.

She was a comfort dog for youth who had to testify in court, she helped them get through recalling painful incidences in their life

She had a good life.

Our vet who really liked Sucha had us meet him at the office at 1AM he said there was not any way she was going be taken to some emergency vet

What an amazing dog, I am sorry to hear she has passed.

Any animal that finds their way to your place is so lucky. She lived a wonderful life thanks to your family.

So sorry for your loss. She was beautiful.

It’s nice to see her coexisting with the horses. My horses and dogs ignore each other. Except for the young horse who thinks the dogs might make a nice toy. I try not to let them near him.

here is a photo of her working with one of her kids

and being awarded Volunteer of the Year, the mayor had to override the facility manager as there were no dogs allowed in the center where the presentation was held

the city even sent her a personalized letter from Santa as she had been helping some of the kids compose letters

Her retirement party was well attended, many of her kids came to say good by, she turned in her Reading Support collar and the library gave her a life time library card

The library staff said all holders of a library card have to a middle name so they gave her one of Good.

Her official name is Sucha Good Girl

So sorry Clanter. What a wonderful girl she was to bring joy to so many. Your vet is a gem but I wish you had been able to plan her passing, it’s always hard to lose them, but when it’s an emergency, that makes it even worse.

we do always, before Sucha was Molly who was really a great pup

before Molly was Bailey and Kelly a mixed breed who may have been the smartest dog we ever had, she knew well over fifty tricks that she could preform before crowds without an issue.

We have used the pets to help raise our kids who all have developed an extended heart of kindness toward others

I’m so sorry for your loss.

Sucha didn’t have a good life, she had an amazing life and was gifted a life of service touching everyone in her path.

I love hearing your stories and seeing pictures of Sucha and wish every dog was treated as wonderfully as you and your family treated Sucha.
