Also just realized they emailed me at an address I did not provide them. I had given my gmail address to request the studies. This was mailed to a different one all together.
Well that’s super duper creepy!
Well, it would all depend on if you could find a lab with methods already set up to test for what you are looking for. For this, you probably will have a hard time finding such a lab doing the analysis on a contract basis. The labs testing this are doing it for their own products, most likely. Maybe an academic lab doing research in that area would be able to do it. But either of those options aren’t set up to take contract clients, typically.
So, yes, I would expect it would be both difficult and expensive to have it analyzed.
Speaking of testing, wonder if any horses on this have been drug tested in competition? I imagine if it’s something other than what they claim, it’s not something that’s currently tested for, but still I wonder.
Did you all happen to notice in light of the weekend’s events the lack of a certain rider on their fb page now?
@AllegedAdequanRep any additional contact from these weirdos? Did you ever receive that package? I’ve been thinking about this whole saga again and it’s just nutso!
I received the box and never opened it. The whole thing makes me squeamish. No other contact and I’m content with that.
I sure hope they dropped ML as a sponsored rider. I think she was wearing their saddle pad on xc.
I’m late to the party on this thread. I wonder how many of those riders know they are listed on messages like that. And to name a JUNIOR rider? Come on!
Had a chance to check out Summit’s FB page. There are two remaining mentions of ML on there, one in which she had tagged them.
There was a story about ML’s cat “Summit Snook” and according to edit history, they edited her name out of the story yesterday.
so this is an interesting discussion. I was talking with the veterinarian that owns this company and sells this product via FB on Horse Vet Corner. It sounds like it is working quite well and they are making a lot of money. They have no intention of getting FDA approval for this particular use, as they sell so much as is. It is all legal, just being used off label. Interestingly, the same vet seems to think that most other products sold over the counter SHOULD be required as a Rx with a veterinary (including wishing that all wormers were Rx only) It rather bugs me that when it is convenient to make money veterinarians want it easily available as a preventative. Doesn’t meant it won’t work, but it just bugs me. She states repeatedly that it is FDA approved for another use, so it is safe/developed under quality controlled methods. I am considering giving it to my old dog…just have to get over my hangup on the politics.
Curious has anyone had any luck obtaining any science yet? She said she wasn’t prepared for the demand and would put something together… well… its been 6 months. What up now?
So this may have been answered later in the thread, but I met him at a birthday party my son was invited to last weekend. Birthday boy’s dad is Dorian Farmer, aka creator of Summit. He makes it at his house, in his “lab”, right next to his son’s playroom. Married to Dr. Heather Farmer, equine vet in Central Florida. She competes HJ, and is testing the waters in the dressage world. Don’t know much else other than I didn’t take him up on the free samples. Firm believer in “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” and my horse is going OK.
Oh my gaaaaaaawd  So it really is a guy making it up in his house?! Well that’s appalling. Something tells me that’s not an FDA approved production facility.
So…yeah. No one inject this stuff into your horse, okay?!
On the same note, my sister just gave her 17 yo FEI gelding his first dose (same morning we went to the birthday party, I had no idea she’d even ordered it, and I’m sure she had no idea this thread existed)
…haven’t seen any noticeable changes in him, but he only got the one dose a week ago and I cannot in confidence say he will be getting additional doses. Either way, I’ll update with any developments since this seems to be a hot topic. Lol

I have used this on 3 horses, my dog that was so uncomfortable we were considering putting her down and myself. Two of the horses are now more comfortable in their work. The other horse - no improvement but I don’t have a diagnosis on whats going on with him yet. My dog now can climb stairs and goes on walks and it takes aways all my knee pain after just one dose but wears off on me after about 2-3 weeks. Definitely worth a try. You will either see results or you won’t but it won’t do any harm.
I dunno. The details about how it was being made were so scary, I wouldn’t inject that. Mixed up in someone’s house from bulk chemicals from China? You injected that into yourself? Really?
Given that you really don’t know what’s in it and there’s zero guarantee or regulatory oversight on it, there’s infinite potential for harm.
Do you remember the melamine in dog food thing from awhile ago? Or the infant formula in China with melamine? That’s the sort of thing you’re playing with. Only with less recourse should anything happen. I hope you have good health insurance.
Good advice as always although I imagine the chances she actually injected herself with anything are zero. This screams thinly veiled ad to me.
Most likely! This is the thread that just keeps on giving!
