HL’s husband trying to pt the ball and chain on her to keep her from going to Rolex again… as more of HL money seemed to fly off into the sunset yesterday… SALE is a 4 letter word… really it is… See what I have to try and resist… I’m only human… and female… and that is only the indoor… there were many more tents outside…
Probably won’t go today though… I was at 2 of the fences with the horrible falls one of them Frodo’s… definitely put a damper on the rest of the day.
I promised my grad student that for her thesis defense present we’ll do a road trip to Rolex, go to the Horse Park and shop. We agree we can’t watch the Xcountry, as that is too frightening for me, I worry about injuries (that old physics “moving force meets immovable object” thing). The dressage will bore her to tears (well, probably would bore me too, I have a limited attention span!). So we’ll watch a bit of stadium, shop, go to the horse park, shop, go by the horse farms, shop, look up Ted’s relatives, shop.
And when we have the party after her thesis presentation talk, and I hand her a pic of us in KY and say, “This was my present!” everyone will go “HUH???”
She’ll be easy. It’s the grad student who makes his own beer that will be tough. A tour of midwest microbreweries just doesn’t seem like as much fun.
…Do they still have $45 Stubben bridles in cob size?
…What do I need another bridle for???

Alas Geek I did look for you but they were all scooped up…:no: There is however next year… and if you have a certain something for the Tedster that you need just let me know and I will gladly look and shop for you… I would love to have a career as a personal shopper :yes: for that is an olympic sport for me… even if I don’t buy anything so I guess I am mostly an olympic browser:lol: If you want to come to Rolex I can give you a tour… I can find my way around the trade fair with eyes closed now… I think that is the way my husband would prefer for me to shop anyways:lol:

Amazing. Really. I am in Beijing this week and have seen Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. I am just in awe of the history, past and present, that surrounds us. :eek:

We went to her very first event and my very first event since USCTA got a new name and riders need arm bands, etc. We went in the elementary division which seemed silly until I got there and MC became a wild thang!! She was exuberant and everytime anyone jumped a warm up fence she jumped too. The spectators gave us mixed reviews.

Yes, from a distance. The main stadium is not open, but it’s a huge draws - there were hundreds of people taking photos of it when we drove by. Amazing, amazing structure. I’ll get photos up on my blog at some point (:rolleyes:).

We are not getting another horse. I just find it amusing that after 2 weekends with this trainer, we’re already being offered a horse. I asked around the barn today. No one’s interested. So how 'bout you guys? Anyone want another horse? He’s FREE! (As if we don’t know that any horse is truly free:lol:)
