* (Super-fun horsey stick art!!)

I hope not! I was young and naive and I didn’t know exactly what it meant when he said he wanted to become a psychiatrist.

This is why it is good to have horses. When I was a grad student, I went to a party at P&S and a med student was chatting me up, and asked what I did. It took me 10 minutes of babbling about my thesis work to notice the glazed look in his eyes, and then all he could say was, “Is that ALL you do?”

Now I could babble about my research and then bore him to tears about trying to qualify for the Olympics in dressage by 2012. See how horses make you so multifaceted, even if you’re a geek?

Hmmm…I could even draw him some minimalist stick art.

Trainer went birdwatching last week: \o>/, so I haven’t ridden in 2 weeks. It’s the end of the semester _/ (a book?–that’s hard to illustrate), so I’m of course tense and stressed out. Trainer calls to confirm lesson tomorrow (I believe on the aforementioned free TB #2, who I also will not be buying) and says we’ll be again working on equitation (can we say disastrously tight and uneven?):

My muscles ache just thinking about it. And yet I’m excited, because I’m horse deprived and apparently a glutton for punishment.

And let’s all hope that said Free TB doesn’t trample another peacock tomorrow while Natalie A is on board.

Peacock running for its life from Natalie intent on revenge:winkgrin:

Visualize, Nat! According to Jane Savoie, it really does work.

HL, this is great! I want to frame it and hang it in my house.

bows

Stick Horse Embroidery is possible. Kung Fu Fighting was immortalized in fabric and thread and then framed in as fine a style as the 50% off Michael’s coupon will allow.

However, the mad skilz of HL are quite probably outside the range of my sewing machine.(1) :dead: I did not realize the limits of my sewing machine until I sat down and tried to replicate stick horse art on it. I now know - the good folks at Janome, while creating an amazingly versatile and lovely sewing machine, did not include the entire PC keyboard on my embroidery list.

(1) Not to mention that my sewing machine and I are separated by 10k miles right now.

I remember painting some of PerchX’s stick art, and that was pretty tough. I can’t imagine doing that on a sewing machine though! :dead:

YAY! It’s Derby Day!

I second that ESPECIALLY since the hospital I work at is just up the road from Churchill. It just makes getting to work tonight a little rough. One of my friends is going to pony at the derby today… I don’t know which horse though so that will make the first part interesting to watch for me trying to pick her out. I want to post art but I’m off to work to possible take care of those who may of embibed 1 too many mint julips today…

There are two fabulous immortalized stick horse art embroidered prints: “Kung Fu Fighting” and “TB or Not TB (Ted has a personal identity crisis).”

They are both proudly displayed next to each other in my house.

I bet they’re beautiful. Maybe cross stitch would be something I could manage, but I doubt it.
