How can parents do this?

:mad: Argh! My neighbor’s 8 year old daughter and 11 year old son have spent the last two nights at my house because mom’s live-in bf went on a crack bender and they’re afraid to be around him. Turns out he’s done a 10 year prison sentence for armed robbery. Any guesses as to what actually happened to the playstation/games/pets (yes, the pets)/etc? Mom told us they moved because they kept getting broken into in the last trailer park (which knowing the place I totally believed). Turns out she just brought the crime with her. AND is letting crackhead bf stay. Why? Because she loooooves him. The sad thing is she has great kids. Both in academically talented programs, good grades, all that.

I never thought I would say this, but maybe my dog biting the 10 year old hydrocephalic neighbor was a good thing. Crackhead bf is a bit wary of him (the now requisite muzzle and prong collar make even the people who don’t know the story wary) so hopefully he won’t be breaking into our house.

Awesome Didgery… I loff the goats… I helped my friend dehorn a few of her goats once.

As to parents… well my mom did the same to me my senior year in high school and really hasn’t spoken to me in the last…oooooh 18 years. My dad and I just within the last 5 yrs or so have rebuilt a great relationship and I have a great stepmom. In the end it made me a stronger person and taught me not to rely on anyone for anything… If you want something work hard and get it yourself. So I like to see the positive that came out of what happened… even if that positive note was hard to see at times. It’s people like RNB and Amwrider that helped me out over the years and I hope that you all get good karma points headed your way.

I hope to add more to my story soon have to go to work tonight… and am looking forward to seeing more of RNB’s story and all other contributions. :yes:
