We’ll all be there with you in spirit when the time comes. And it won’t be easy but please do reflect on Sweetie knowing YOU tried and did your best for her and are giving her a kind ending. You can imagine the suffering she may have had in other hands. And I’m so sorry about all your other vet issues doing on right now. Sometimes this hobby of ours in insane in cost.
Thank you! I know it is never easy, but knowing I am doing the right thing makes the decision easier. As for cost, thank goodness for my pony’s vet that came out taking care credit and 0%interest for a yr!
At the end of the day it will all be worth it to know at least I tried with Sweetie when there could have been so many other horrific ways she could have gone depending on who else could have bought her, and my pony is feeling better, his mom was with me for around 26 or so yrs and she was 7 or 8 when I got her, we grew up together. I am hoping to have at least close to that with her son:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:. Pain in my also non existent ding dong that he is .
ETA, Burial guy just texted, said dad can do Tuesday during the day, Wed will not work for them, vet can do Tues as well, God bless this woman for rearranging her sched for us, so unfortunately it has been moved up a day but at least everyone is on the same page and it can get done.
I don’t watch Dr. Who, but I am about to youtube hello sweetie!!!
Lifting you and Sweetie up in prayer
I’m so sorry to hear. You have given your heart and taught your family (even your husband) some valuable lessons. Sweetie currently wants for nothing, and that is a gift
Thank you for doing right by her. She had the best last 6 weeks and a dignified end. She is so lucky she found you. Things happen for a reason.
So very sorry. Thank you for the care and love you have given Sweetie.
I’m so sorry, but to echo others - you gave her the best possible life she could have had in the past weeks, and you’re going to give her the best possible way to cross the bridge, too. God knows what would have happened to her if you’d left her with her previous owners - how much she might have suffered. This way, she has had the best care imaginable, and you know that what you’re doing is the only way forward.
This, it be right. Hugs and jingles to you.
All the above sentiments. Hugs to you and your family and lots of carrots to Sweetie.
Amen.
So sorry that you are going to be saying goodbye to Sweetie so soon. Hugs to you all.
I have to admit when I read about her being low on albumin, my heart sank. My beautiful QH had the same test results, and on a belly tap, cancerous cells were found. He was only 16. I tried so hard to keep him healthy, just wanting to give him one last summer, but by late spring Ivdecided to let him go, I just couldn’t watch him fail anymore. I still tear up thinking about it, you are being much stronger than I was and I wish you all well.
Thank you and I am so sorry about you losing your boy!!!
Thank you. It was over 20 years ago, but his loss still tugs at my heart, he was such a special boy. Please give Sweetie a hug from me, and yourself!
I’ll be thinking of you Tuesday. Thanks for trying as hard as you did.
Many hugs and prayers for you and Sweetie. You’ve given her a soft and loving sendoff.
Not the best photo of them of course .
I was just outside cleaning stalls and picking the field and they were just walking together down the fence line grazing and I just thought it was the absolute cutest thing ever.
Thinking of you. I’m so glad that your pony is doing better, and sad that the mare is so ill. You’ve done well, and letting her go is, I agree, the kindest option. You’re a good egg @carman_liz.
You’ve given her some good days where she was safe, taken care of, and loved. That’s a much better ending that she’d have gotten somewhere else. I love that fence line pic.
That is precious! Looks like two old friends out for a stroll discussing the world. She’s probably telling pony to take care of you
Thinking of you and Sweetie tonight
