Or teeth were done poorly, or one cracked, etc.
Or since they were done they got bad again.
Lots of reasons to seek a good, dedicated equine dentist/vet for a thorough exam.
Dentals arenāt all created equal.

Because she is basically due for everything. Coggins, new shots, her teeth it says there was an extraction but doesnāt say any details no actual Coggins paper came with it no notes from the vetās office. They said she was wormy ā¦ why no details or fecal count whatsoever,but when I get back to work I will update because I called the vet. Not that it makes it any better.

The cost of vaccines and coggins is minimal when it comes to horse care. Itās not like she is years behind on things. She is a month behind on vaccines and her coggins should be current. She was dewormed with Quest Plus this summer. I donāt see where it says she is wormy?
I would be most concerned about what is going on in her mouth.

So itās probably just me because Iām OCD about details, maybe because I havenāt been able to get anything done that I needed to this week, maybe because my daughter is growing up and doesnāt realize certain movements of her body when listening to music are inappropriate now n got in trouble at school, maybe itās partially because I was roped into a bday dinner that took up my entire evening Wed, when yes I love my friends and my bday isnāt on fbā¦ but they totally forgot about mine and still havenāt realized it, (yes petty I know but itās the kind of day Iām having!), maybe itās due to my dh pulling a bipolar switch yesterday and is in donāt fn talk to me I wanna be left the hell alone and deal w the horses cost yourself bc I said so thatās why, or my 20yr old son needing to use my cc for a dentist when he should have gotten ins thru his job already, on top of me being stressed out and just wanting this mare here already so I know what Iām working with, not to mention the myriad of things that have gone wrong at home this week, also being āthatā weekā¦ I hate being female sometimes.
Ok vent n therapy session overā¦ I just was annoyed that it didnāt say anymore than it did. I called the vet, explained to them that Iām buying the mare, asked them for details on if any fecals were pulled, noā¦ but they wormed all their horses w/quest and then pulled a fecal on ONE of their horses a month later and it was a 0 countā¦ then I asked about that extraction that was on there, my vet would have notes, lower incisor number yada yada was decayed/cracking/fracturedā¦ something for pityās sakeā¦ nothing, they had no notes in their paperwork or computers on it. Said looks like maybe she had a broken point and it was actually just filed down, because to extract would have cost a lot more money than what they paid for that days visit, no exam was done/body condition review, etc. They just shot all the horses full of wormer and shots and scraped a tooth or so in her mouthā¦
Oh and the vet was going to send me an actual coggins certā¦ the one with the horses body on itā¦ all the little notes. I still havenāt gotten it. Iām psycho about that kind of stuff, my animals are due for rabies in a lil over a month, Iām getting them done asap. When my ponyās coggins is due, I get it done early.
Of course if they were horsey people they would have given me a ton more details, and wouldnāt be needing to sell her, let alone have her in that condition, yes I get it I get itā¦ Iām just annoyed and frustrated and darnit I stress ate half my fries on my way back to work even though I got honey mustard for them and now Iām annoyed and frustrated at myself!!! Blah, every day has been a Monday this week and itās just all catching up to me I guess. Iām happy she is ok and had basic care, I just wanted more details darnit.

You are just having a bad week and that tends to color every part of our lives.
If you step back and look you can see she has at least been dewormed, current coggins, dental work ( even though the competency of the dentist/ vet is unknown) and had some vaccines WNV and not EEE is a bit odd but something that is easily updated.
Much better history than many people would get with a horse in her situation. Tomorrow will come soon enough and you all will be fine.

I know and the little voice of reason in the back of my head keeps reminding me of that. I think Iāll feel better once I leave work in about an hour and start getting stuff finally prepped and ready for her.

Yes, the more you get ready, the more ready/accomplished youāll feel, and the less youāll be able to worry about. BTW, youāre doing great.
And those little āback of the headā voices really DO know what theyāre talking about.

I was just texting a CoTHer last night about how if I could afford it, I would have ALL the blankets in the world!
As for the rest of it - those arenāt really thorough vet records, but I agree it could be a LOT worse. Youāre going to be a soft landing for this mare. She was recently wormed with a pretty broad spectrum wormer and she has a (barely) current Coggins. She hasnāt been completely neglected - sheās had some basic care. Just get her home, and take it from there. Then you can give her better care and be more in control!

Looks like EEE was done last fall. We do E/W/T in spring here but I donāt know where OP is, maybe this is standard. At least the horse seems to have gotten on a fall and spring routine vet care schedule of some sort. Could be worse.

De-cobwebbed as far as the broom length would allow, swept and rebedded the empty stall, put a new tarp cover thingy on the stall gate for the winter, 10 bales of alfalfa, alf/tim pellets n beet pulp pellets along with some triple C senior all ready to go, cleaned up that side of the barn as much as I could.
Oh and no wasp/yellow jacket stings! I have like 4 nests n my rafter areas I need to spray and a couple traps to set after I am done cleaning up the other stall n side of the barn. I want to hang traps, sprayā¦and RUNNN!!!
I am slightly calmer nowā¦woosaahhhā¦

Mare is in NC, I am in east TN. My pony lives at home n never leaves, so he gets coggins and the ā3 fatalsā as my vet calls them (?) With a rabies.

Also, ebay and searching for deals save me a ton. Ponys cooler, like 20 bucks, the mares was around 45 on sale with a coupon, luckily it was my mares and a 69 cooler stretches enough to fit a smaller 71ish. Same with the sheets and hoods, they were all my mares. Ponys sheet n hood were a color closeout deal on adams site, they had the ābuy an amigo sheet set n get a free halter n leadā plus closeoutā¦plus free shipping.
Oh the dealsā¦ I live for them!

Too bad youāre not able to pick her up or see her beforehand to check out the condition of the other horses on the property. But donāt worry, theyāve done the basics. Maybe theyāre just not willing to put the effort into an older horse and/or donāt know how to maintain health at that age.

I know the one thing I donāt have is a trailerā¦ but theyre willing to bring her 2 hrs to me for no more than what they listed her for. So that tells me their hearts pretty much are in the right place.
