Swiss Skydiver wins Preakness

Yes it must be a tough call for them. If she were mine I’d put her in the distaff. She’s already proved herself against the boys.
I’d want to give her the best chance of winning.

This would probably be my inclination as well other than the HOY carrot on a stick if she won the Classic

Did everybody read about McPeek putting Swiss Skydiver on a plane for a ride, so she knows she’s getting ready to race?

I heard it on TVG - post # 55

Current survey on Paulick Report…

If you owned Swiss Skydiver, which BC race would you select…

25% Classic, 75% Distaff

I think as much as I’d like to see her take on the boys, might be a deep field and Distaff would probably be my choice.

Since she’s 3, I would choose for her to go in the Distaff. I think going against older males might be too much to ask right now. If she races next year as a 4 year old and does well, maybe she could run in the Classic next year.

Sorry about that! I didn’t see it, and I just thought it was hysterical!

I did too! She’s been such a performer this year with 9 different tracks… listening to Kenny McPeek say that during the interview had me about falling off my chair laughing

Swiss Skydiver is being pre-entered in both the Distaff and Classic.

Monomoy Girl, Distaff.

Swiss Skydiver’s connections still haven’t publicly made up their minds yet.

From TVG’s BC Saturday previous this morning…

Swiss Skydiver’s first preference is the Distaff with second preference the Classic.

Looking at the depth of the Classic field, I’d be thinking taking on Monomoy Girl might be the better choice.

But hey, maybe BB’s 3 entries in the Classic will get DQ’d.

Finally caught this morning on TVG (who’s doing Breakfast At Keeneland with commentary from the analysts on site for morning works including Gabby Gaudet who’s on horseback out on the track) how Swiss Skydiver got her name.

Owner Peter Callahan’s daughter had gone skydiving in the Swiss Alps

His grand-daughter actually. They were both interviewed in the paddock before the Preakness.

TV was on in the other room. I missed the Preakness interview.

Still think it is a cool story where SS got her name.
