TB's I Have Known - [FB PAGE STARTED w/ Database!!! - update on 1st post]

I own one

Boy Miranda (2002) Stage Colony x Requited
Hey - I remember seeing Snake River on the CANTER site! Can you post his CANTER pic?
I don’t have it, sorry. Early last winter/late fall 17handtb posted pics on a thread about the horses adopted at the Suffolk Showcase, but the pic they posted had a solid bay gelding, and mine has a small boomerang shaped star. I don’t think the pic was him, unless you can spontaneously grow a star.
Some day when I get a premium membership and much more computer savvy, I’ll post pics.

Barbaric Kidd ~ Foaled in 1982 . Came off the track in Ohio I think.

Don’t post often, but thought I would add the TBs that I have worked with or owned.

Circle Quillo…1980…my first horse, who came back into my life 2 years ago and is retired with us!!
Seminole Wind…unregistered…aka Oscie
Von’s Irish Beau bay gelding
Dream Big bay mare
Tropical Moon grey mare
Market Meltdown chest. gelding
Dari chest mare
Kalookan Lady bay mare

Updating with a picture.

I am looking to find out more about this horse

http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/6412/2165366340100357206S600x600Q85.jpg

I bought him in 1985 from Judy Young at Even Keel farm in Fl he was a grand prix horse bought to be my junior jumper. His name when we got him was
O’Brother . Back then his past wasnt important to me and I never looked into his papers He did have a tat starting with the letter B it ended in a zero…the rest was terribley faded.

He was chestnunt with two white socks on the left side. He also had a scar running down the inside of his right hide leg from groin to fetlock.

I just am hoping someone somewhere recognizes him…he pased away in 2000 at 28 if we had his age right. He ment so much to me I wish I knew everything about him.

We’ve got a few at our barn:

Big Becker 1995 (Becker x Megan Two) Bred by Scott Peck, PA.
It’s Your Time 2001 (You And I x Exact Time)
Our Pop 1999 (Lil Fappi x Holly Pop)
Flag Furled 1991 (U.S. Flag x Social Wing) Bred by Joseph Smylie, PA.

We had Carrsonetclaire 2001 (Carr de Naskra x Belara); he was savaged by a horse at our barn, became underweight and neglected and then rehomed through CoTH.

Flag Furled was neglected and then abandoned at our barn. Has two registered get, Free At Sea and Indy U S A. Trying to find her a home now.

Big Becker was also neglected and abandoned at our barn. Earned $326K out of 73 starts. His breeder won an Iroquois Award in 2001 for him winning the $40,000 St. Patrick’s Day Stakes, $40,000 Batter Up Handicap and $40,000 Born to Run Handicap at Charles Town. Now safe (and sound! :))

re: Big Becker

That’s amazing, I remember Big Becker running! How did he get up to NJ and become abandoned? Thank God for you! Let me try and rummage around some and find out about the woman and her husband that had him when he was doing his best.

Anyone know

Snow Shot - Grey, 2000 Horse by Alphabet Soup

He is a nice stallion that is still running up at Canterbury.

Cool, that would be great! I got his race history but lost it during a computer switchover, and I can’t remember any names. His story is interesting in a what-happens-to-them kind of way, especially a horse that someone once paid $100K for. Becker was at Phila Park, retired and given to a guy named Brian, a farrier there. Brian had $ issues, lived near my barn, and made a deal with the BO for the BO’s daughter to ride Becker for 1/2 board and full care. This is a TB that was on the track for 8 years being given to a 11 yr old girl who has NO IDEA how to ride, with no down time or retraining. Great, huh?

So, they go out on a trail ride, with all western tack. Girl comes back walking and crying, sans horse. BO gets on Becker a month later, goes on a trial ride, tries to make him stand still, and Becker goes over backwards onto BO. Brian stops coming around and has never paid board. BO washes his hands of Becker. His weight drops over the next 4 months, his feet look like he’s got wings on them, he gets terrible rain rot and he’s shivering like crazy in Oct. Brian’s phone won’t take any more messages. I get fed up and tell the BO that I can take over his care but can’t pay board. It’s that or animal control might see him and cause trouble for the BO. BO agrees, and I go out and buy Becker a comfy WeatherBeeta and get the vet over ASAP to float his teeth, vaccinate and microchip. And then he’s mine.

I own:

Rightfully So (Native Factor X Lulu’s Right), 1999 Ch Gelding

Rightfully So, a.k.a. Jasper, raced a few times as a 2 year old and 3 year old in Michigan and West Virginia. I bought him as a 3 year old and did some training level dressage with him, but he’s got some fairly serious arthritis so we gave that up. Now he’s working on being a very good trail horse. He was my first horse, bought at age 30 (me, not him, obviously!), having wanted one desperately since age 9. He is much loved and has a forever home with me.

I have 2!

i have an off the track tb also and his name is fred is race name was fred astaire and he only has one eye has some kids thought it would be fun to poke his eye with a stick.
Are you sure about his name? Fred Astaire is a stallion who was standing in VA (I think) the last time I heard anything about him. It was about two years ago…

I know where a few of the horses on the list are…

Lou Lou’s a Gamer was placed by CANTER, NE a few months ago…she had been racing at Suffolk.

Raw General is with the TRF, he was also at Suffolk.

Two Shakes is with the TRF in VA and is a really sweet horse. He had been adopted out and was returned becuase the adopter was having some financial issues.

If you want info on how to check on any of these horses, PM me.

I would love to know where the horses listed below ended up when they finished racing -

Zoom Cat
Mr Tyler
Rice
Fortitude
Nectaria
Blissful State
Twice Friends
String Along
Hold My Tongue
Metatonia

If anyone has any info, I’d really appreciate it.

I forgot Deena’s Slew BY Ocala Slew (sorry Halo) out of How to Splash foaled 1998

There are many more, but I can’t remember them all. I did layups for a trainer from Rockingham during the 80s.
