TB's I Have Known - [FB PAGE STARTED w/ Database!!! - update on 1st post]

Naswar update

I added him to the list awhile ago, he is actually owned by Evelee Hunter on this board and he’s going down to VA to be a fancy pants hunter!

He did amazing as an event/project horse for me while Jay (check by check) was in rehab and now he’s on to make another girl happy!

Oh! He also took my little sister over her first big hunter jump course at a big show this summer and got 4th place out of like 35 horses!

Apolda was a lovely mare, nice to work with, but unfortunately died after delivering a FuPeg colt via c-section the year I was at H’n’D.

Kudos to you (and Old Friends) for stepping up and rescuing these horses from slaughter!

I’m so sorry to hear about Apolda. I really liked her. She was very opinionated…

Were you at H’n’D long? I used to be right across the street at Vinery - My husband was the farm manager - feels like another lifetime at this point!

And A.P. Slew is a cool horse. He was still intact at 8. running for $3500 at Penn National. A 3 legged lame, 8 year old intact horse would have had NO shot at being purchased by anyone other than a kill buyer. He’s now a gelding and settling into his new life. The Kentucky Equine Humane Center actually took him in at first but he needed more time to let down than they were in a position to give him so Michael Blowen agreed to take him. The RACE Fund donated some funding, a super nice guy from the Penn area took the horse in until he could get to KY and Michael Paulson was thrilled that the horse was safe. Good all around.

Every horse at [edit] Farm has been seized be the Steuben County SPCA in the past two days. They were all emaciated. They’ve all gone to foster homes. It was a bad scene. There was a story on the local news up there tonight and someone sent it to me. The farm was not named but a friend was helping and has filled me in.[/QUOTE]

She didn’t list Maraciabo who supposively reinjured his leg after dismounting a mare.

Yes, Naz is on free lease to my grand niece. I still own him. We took him down to VA this weekend & he is living in a beautiful barn on a beautiful farm!

Funny how some mares change when they become broodmares  Estrapade was also in the barn at the same time, and one of the foal watch attendants had worked with her as a racehorse. She commented that she was a tough filly that would like to prop during her works. And while not the lovey-dovey type, she was easy enough to deal with. And she was still a tough cookie, in the fact that she had survived West Nile the year before, considering she was 23 at the time! It’s too bad she never got to enjoy the retirement she deserved from the broodmare ranks.

I wasn’t at H’n’D that long, just a few months during foaling/breeding season, as an internship for school. I got to Vinery once with a mare to be bred

Locating your horses seized from [edit] Farm…

What I would suggest is contacting the SPCA in Steuben County DIRECTLY if you are a horse owner that boarded etc your horse at [the farm where the seizure took place]…most horses would have tattoos that I would think the owners would have knowledge of.

Keep in mind that this is an ONGOING & OPEN investigation, even though evidence might seem clear and the friend of a friend that perhaps was at the farm during the seizure, should been instructed by the SPCA Cruelty Investigator, Mr. Scott Mazzo to keep things “Under Hat”…

My List

Backstretch Bandit - 1996 bay filly by Boulder Dam o/o Etruscan (deceased)
Myriad Way - 1997 bay mare by Lazaz o/o Lyphard’s Finder (I’d love to know her whereabouts)
Johnar - 1993 gray gelding by Cee’s Tizzy o/o Lonely Dancer (currently a foxhunter, don’t know where though)
Della Jhamela - 1999 dark bay/brown mare by Cryptoclearance o/o Charmed Dancer (currently a lower level dressage horse in Idaho)
High Court Hugh - 2000 bay gelding (came back from track w/bow, sold as a sporthorse from what I know)

Adding Gustoruckus again

Gustoruckus- 1993, bay/dark bay gelding, Just looking for anyone that knew him from his track days- he raced from 1995 to 2002 (Mostly in Detroit but did make his way to other tracks). Out of Bunty’s Sister and by Gustoso

New horse:
Big Times Ahead- 1990, bay/dark bay gelding, Raced from 94 to 96, quite a bit at Finger Lakes. Just wondering if anyone knew him from his racing days. Out of Pootsie Pie and by Foyt.

marchbaby- please edit your post. The information on the farm has not been released for a reason (ie- It was ommitted from the press release).

DO NOT CONTACT the SPCA unless you legitimately OWN a horse that was boarded there. I’m seeing many people wondering about this horse and that horse- realize there is a case going on and many horses to worry about. If you own a horse, you’ll be contacted I am quite sure. I went through this once myself, and it all works as it should.

Bump

You can add our latest, Retiring Don (GAG!), by Bates Motel. His show name is Vertigo. Chestnut gelding, 1995

Also, we lost our Pilgrim last week…his jc name was Amaryllo Albert.

Please add my 2 boys.

Trevelyan, 1996 b.g. (Allen’s Prospect x Adotahoney)
Red Wrecker 2001 ch.g. (Explosive Red x Crafty Marian)

And my girl.

Annie Mactagish, 1994 b.m. (Tagish x Belledelaire)

Amazingly, the 1996 horse was given up by the original owner, who never gave him a name, but kept his papers. Success story, I FINALLY last year was able to get him officially named through the JC. They were wonderful!
