Vineridge- it is general forrest with two RR’s. You know I should just ask the lovely canter MA people before giving myself a headache you know! He’s one nice horse and from what I can tell he has some good breeding. He’s got a jump that is out of this world.
SteelRdr-Sassy JR is now an event horse. A friend of mine owns him-he’s very well loved and is quite the personality! He had a pasture injury last year, and is just now getting back into competition. He’s done several successful Prelims before that though. Very cool horse

I did know JR was an event horse! I remember him being sold to eventer and saw him on Waters Edge’s website a while after he sold.
I was one of the first people to take JR over a jump. Nearly jumped me STRAIGHT out of the tack! I also galloped him and schooled him over hurdles a few times. The most fun was when I got to turn him back into a show horse when he wasn’t such a great race horse! He was a phenominal jumper (and I guess to go prelim, he’s got to be pretty darn good). I always loved him, and he always had GREAT confidence over jumps! I can tell you many a story about him…like when we jumped an in-and-out with both my legs on one side of him because he popped me so far out of the saddle!
BTW-
Just got another new one in.
Accumulator (2004)
He was in Buddy Delp’s barn for the Meyerhoff’s until Buddy passed away this fall. He was then moved up to CT (Charles Town, not Connecticut), which is where the lady I ride for purchased him. He’s a SUPER sweet heart! I know they bought him as a weanling, but if anyone remembers we’d like to know a bit more about him (as in how he was for galloping/riding).

Sounds like he hasn’t changed a bit! He still has the same owner-she’s now over at Sunset Hills. He was quite the handful when she got him-he had one speed, which was GO. He’s settled down to being just plain fun now 
That horse definitly loves to run and jump-and can still jump a rider right out of the tack!

That’s a great idea - and could very well help to give a horse a new home. I used to gallop a BIG TB - 17.2 as a 3 year old - named Colonial Stand. While I had him on my Stable Mail, I eventually lost track of him, until one day I just happened to check the Re-Run Ky site and there he was. I called them up, and was able to tell them all sorts of info about him, since I had known him since he was a foal. Being so big, and not very sound, he was rather hard to place, but one woman was a bit interested in him. They gave her my number, and for almost two hours I told her stories of “John Boy” and his antics, and even emailed her a few pics of him. She later told me that had she not spoken with me, she would’ve never adopted him.
The last I heard, he is living the life of Riley in Mass.
This is why I ALWAYS try and locate “my” babies.
Freebird, that’s a great story. I really think it’s incredibly important to improve our networking in the horse community to where people can get the information they need about horses, and former owners/breeders can have the opportunity to continue to be involved in ensuring the horse has a good home. I think most people want to be able to do this, but there just hasn’t been a good way to keep tabs on horses.
Maybe we could/should email this list to Re-Run and CANTER reps?
I’d LOVE to one day see a website that helped to reunite horses to their previous owners, breeders, trainers and grooms.
Of all the TB"s that I galloped, groomed and broke, Minority Stock was my favorite. I tried for years to track him down, but I hit a dead end when his last trainer told me he didn’t remember who he sold him to. I still think about him, and wonder where he is, and if my “Cisco” is OK.

i have an off the track tb also and his name is fred is race name was fred astaire and he only has one eye has some kids thought it would be fun to poke his eye with a stick.
My OTTB is Silent Thunder (Bay Gelding by Bertrando,1995). Others I know from off the track - a friend of mine owns the gelding Meigs, who raced in Illinois; another friend owns Mystic Stone (I was the CANTER volunteer who helped place her); and I knew Lunar Perigee, a son of AP Indy who was listed on CANTER and now has a home in KY.
I’m working on it. I need an expert on SQL databases who wants to donate their time (or own part of the project). I can do everything else, have the domain, and have a database roughed out in Access. If there are any SQL experts in the PNW who want to do something really proactive to keep horses from meeting bad ends…PM me and let’s talk.
