TB's I Have Known - [FB PAGE STARTED w/ Database!!! - update on 1st post]

Oh wow, thank you!!

Thanks cat… Why are some in bold and how do we know which ones people want info on? Great idea!

Been avoiding doing this because I want to believe that there were happy endings for everybody…special requests in bold italics.

Oh, thanks so much, Cat! If the list produces any leads for me, I’ll come pick up poops for you for a year!

Thanks cat… Why are some in bold and how do we know which ones people want info on? Great idea![/QUOTE]

Because the people put them in bold and if I changed it all to plain text, it would be confusing in some cases…I just copied and pasted. I can “neaten it up” as we go along.

I put in info like “owned by” if I had it. In some cases, I didn’t know from the post exactly what the person wanted. If just the screen name is there, they either want info or they just posted the name but either way, they know the horse.

I am actually working on something like this on a much grander scale and for all breeds…if anybody lives in the PNW and really knows web databases and wants to partner with me, get in touch. I’ve got the domain and the database roughed out in Access, but I need help translating that to the web.

Oh VERY cool!!

Could you please put Greatsilverfleet in bold letters? He was very special to me… and was a stakes winner, last known in Canada on a farm owned by one of the owners in partnership… I heard he was training to be a 3-day horse.

catknsn - WOW, you are great to do this! I bet there are alot more “hits” for these horses now that we don’t have to wade through all of the posts for names. THANK YOU!

Menaevia
Sweet Kyle
3 Times
Big Bad Leroy
Dance Stepper
Wallstreet Class
Our Only Legacy
Danny Duke
Lou Lou’s A Gamer
Prince William
Pressing

Having the list makes searching for horses a lot easier. Thanks for doing it, catknsn!!

A big thanks!

What a cool thing you’ve done! It makes it so much easier to scan for horses you might recognize.
If we wanted to add to the list would we just add horses to the thread and “poof!” you can put them on the list? So much work…
Really appreciated.

Sure, add to the thread and I’ll update every evening or so. It’s actually very easy, I just cut & paste and then re-sort the list and convert to HTML.

Can we start a standard way of listing though? Let’s do the name and then the year of birth if known in parentheses, for example:

Rags to Riches (2004)

That would be good as these names do get re-used and it will clear up confusion if everybody knows which one you mean.

One thing I can do that may help - and other AQHA members can as well - we all get $10 in free searches every month, and we can look to see if the mares have any AQHA get. If they do, AQHA will also have a registered owner on them as of that foaling. I’ve found one of my old OTTB’s this way.

Can I add

Jo’s Lookin Better '94 drk bay gelding. Last raced Calder 2000 he was 6yrs old. I owned him for almost 3 years, bought him in '02 to keep him from going to a very bad place he was a walking skeleton when I bought him, couldn’t afford to feed him in '05 so I sold him, was unable to keep in touch with who I sold him to and has been resold as of Nov '06 was in the Tampa, FL area would LOVE to know anything about him, he was such a personality. Would love to know how he’s doing now, miss him dearly, would take him back in a heartbeat.

-Brother Billy ( February 20th, 1988) Gelding, bred by Samuel D. Glenn. Out of Unbelievers by Speedy Idiot. Would LOVE LOVE LOVE more information about him.
-Decagold (April 15, 1990) Gelding. Have info on him 2002-current, would love to know about his time on track.

I own Light the Day, by Native of Seattle out of Shinga. I seriously doubt he raced - he’d have to have taken a nap in the starting gate to get himself out of it!

He was bred by Mr & Mrs Henry H. Forstbauer and foaled in British Coumbia, Canada. He is a big (17.0 hand) bay gelding who is a sweetheart. He is currently showing in the 1st year greens and is probably going to be a junior or amateur horse. Great personality and very laid back.

Have you tried Forrest with two Rs? He’s the famous Southern Cavalry general whose rule for war was “Get there firstest with the mostest.”

TB’s I have known

I currently own a 1994 OTTB grey gelding, registered named “Sue the Wolf” by the South African sire “Wolf Power”.

I would love to visit with anyone who would have been involved in his second career training after he came off the track. Because whoever was involved with his re-training did an EXCELLENT job! “Greyhorse”, (his barn name) is a real joy to be around and to ride.

Easter Spy (1984) Mount Hagen x Whistling Spy. Illinois bred and ran until 1988 or 89 at Hawthorne.

I have him, adore him, and would love any information about him or where he was before he ended up in Alabama and Mississippi.
