tell me about this stallion in Canada

Yes, I am digging this topic back up as I stumbled across it as I was doing a search for other Yellow Creek offspring.

I currently have one myself…and couldn’t be more please with him! Dam is a beautiful Clyde/Hackney cross and I got a now 8 y/o black gelding who LOVES to jump.

He is quite large (17.2 - dam is only 16.2), HUGE, strong hooves (that I believe came out of the draft blood - to the point he has never had shoes on ever and doesn’t take any ouch steps), but built so nicely! Farrier says he could pass as a Hanoverian if you branded him.

He is so laid back. I can load/unload him in a trailer no problem by myself, hacks out no problem, jumps ANYTHING (he is SO brave!) and generally just goes as long as you tell him to  Better watch your steering though, you trot into the ring and don’t pay attention he will take you right to the jump!

He currently is doing the 1m jumpers (this is his first year showing - cause of his size I gave him a late start) and has the scope to do 1.20 no problem (that is next year’s goal;)) Despite his size he can turn on a dime and I must say we have been having great success so far this year, and will have no problem being in the top 3 come end of season (currently 1st overall )

I bred him and still have his mother…I love him to bits! (can you tell I love my horse?)

Here is some pics:

The owner’s property of YC is enough to scare the crap out of me not to touch anything on that property with a 100 foot pole. I went to look at a Tb mare there once and when I saw 20+ horses in a small muddy paddock, 3 of those being laid out flat behind the shelter I felt bad for any animal at that property and was not willing to put any money towards her business. Then when she told me those 3 were sold to slaughter, but it was okay because she would be there why they knocked them out and they were old lame school horses - left, and not politely.

Never really liked YC anyway, he’s probably under used for a reason.

That is awful. :frowning:
