The absolute best, tastiest kitty treats?

I want to know! What does your cat go absolutely crazy for?

I’ve yet to find a treat my cat likes, but I’d like to for those occasions when I need to distract her momentarily or make something unpleasant a little more pleasant.

So … help me out here.

My cat loves Temptations by Friskies. They are crunchy on the outside and have a soft filling. She goes crazy for them!

I try to feed mostly a healthy diet but she thinks the healthy treats are crap.

little pieces of meat or fish? most commercial treats for dogs or cats have disgusting ingredients, cost a fortune, and are no where near as attractive as well, some steak you bought on sale.

What Wendy said! Chicken bits, tuna bits, a bit of sharp cheddar cheese, and dried shrimp, they totally dig those (you can get it at Asian markets)

Fearless Kitten will come running if she thinks the dogs are getting anything; she likes their treats too (dehydrated venison).

My big dumb cat really REALLY loves his Laxatone/Laxastat - hairball medication… It’s basically vaseline with malt flavoring, I think - but he likes it enough that I can use it as a reward for toenail clipping.

He also seems to like the Greenies for cats, if you wanted an actual treat, rather than a petroleum product… but I wouldn’t say he goes “crazy” for anything. Then again, his favorite pastime is perforating heavy duty plastic bags - he’s a little special.

trained one cat to walk on leash and fetch with canned sardines. If cat isn’t into fish, try chopped ham or steak. Currently training a dog to weave using liverwurst. did you realize that Purina’s fake bacon for dogs costs $16 a pound and is mostly “take years off your dogs life” crap ingredients? real bacon only costs under $2 a pound, is much more exciting for dogs (and cats) than fake treats, and is much healthier (assuming you don’t feed it in large quantities and only use small bits for training). Cats are in an even worse situation than dogs- dogs can eat anything, but cats are pure carnivores, and anything other than animal derived products in their diets/treats will impair their health.

I have yet to find a cat that can resist those kitty Greenies. Most cats love the dry treats - it’s the semi-moist ones that get rejected. Every cat I’ve met go wild for the Greenies.

GREENIES =crack for cats!

Yup, my cats go nuts for the Greenies, too.

and dogs, too. My dogs and cat go insane for them. They must put oxycontin in them or something.

I have to keep the Greenies bags in the regrigerator or else they steal the bags and tear them open!

Wellness makes an all meat treat mine flip over.

My Cat loves, I mean Loves the little dried fish you can get at Asian markets. They are minnow sized whole little silver fish dried. I don’t give them to her often as they are salty but she goes crazy for them!

Depends on the cat.

One will slice your hand off to get the chicken biscuit, the next LOVES tuna…

One also loves those commercial treats, well enough to were the crinkle of the bag gets her to come running.

The 3rd one? hmm still looking…

There is also catnip…one kitty goes nutso over her catnip toys (they need to be replenished…making list) sadly the other 2 won’t give it a first look…

Mine enjoy Greenies and Temptations, but they go WILD for catnip-flavored Pounce crunchy treats. They adore them. Only the catnip flavor.

I would by no means say they are the “best” as in healthiest, but they are treats after all, given in small doses so not a big deal.

Thanks everyone! I’ll have to see what my pet shop has in stock. They don’t have to be the healthiest things ever; I just need Miss E to think very highly of them.

We always had good luck with these at the clinic where I worked, in the “Tender Moments” flavor (purple bag).

My old cats loved the soft Pounce treats, salmon flavored.

Current cats like the crunchy ones, just shake the can (it sounds like their food).

One cat LOFFS yogurt. She has an ongoing gut issue, I’ve tried treating with yogurt. Doesn’t help her any in that department, but when I grab some out of the fridge for myself she’s circling my legs! Oh and beef jerky, will literally grab it from your lips!

hehehehehehehe, they are supposed to be treats, after all…healthy is reserved for the main course!

Yup… greenies! My cat goes ballistic for the pill pockets lol. For awhile I had a foster dog that was getting pills twice daily in the dog pill pockets… needless to say the cat knew the rattle of the pill jar and was on the counter attacking your hands for a bit of the greenie twice a day. I’ve never tried the actual greenies treats with her though.
