When my mum was going through chemo they put a slow release Gravol Patch behind her ear and it worked like a charm.

Hope your day is a good one!

On the ginger bit, of course tastes vary HUGELY. I do like ginger tea with honey (when I could have honey) but other wise not big on ginger, and I found the candies pretty tasty. Which says nothing about what someone else thinks but just saying, not liking ginger in other stuff might not preclude the candy! DH, also not a real ginger fan, found the candies helpful but was diabetic, so kind of limited in how many he could have! He also used plain ole saltines!

He (and another friend who went through chemo for BC) also commented on how their tastes changed. She could no longer drink coffee (very odd metallic taste) and he gave up lots of stuff he loved (and enjoyed new things, like tapioca pudding and green tea)

You’ll find what works, if you need anything at all. Maybe a slice of nice, roasted ground hog…(kidding, although I do have a recipe for marmots I’ve never tried. I’ve got one under the house that drives the cats nuts…:))

Well that could work, except it might set the barn on fire! LOL
On the Ground hog front, he has not been back since he dug next to the set trap 2 days ago, and I filled everything in and put the cinder blocks against the barn. Fingers crossed.
But since the garden is trashed…

Good Saturday Morning ~ may it be an easier day for you ~ Jingles & AO ~

I may be off line for a couple of weeks (nothing bad, just happenstance) so I want you to know that I will be thinking of you every single day.

Well talked to the Pharmacist about the morphine, He asked me some questions and said this is the wrong stuff for you. this is extended release, which means you are not in controll of your pain, And if you still have pain you can’t take more.
I knew it. I am going to ask her for Hydrocodone, Norco which is what he also suggested.
I do not want drugs when I do not need them. Rrrrrrr.

I’m glad you found out before taking it. My mom hated taking medicine too, but finally had to when it metastasized to the bone. I hope you can find something that helps while being as minimal as possible.

How are you feeling today? I hope today is good and while I’m very sorry your garden is trashed, at least the ground hog is gone. Probably nothing left for him to eat :frowning:

Kim, hope you are able to get the meds sorted!

And may the groundhog be gone for good and not just on holiday elsewhere while your garden recovers. They are tough–a neighbor had one in his yard. Big den up against his foundation. He thought it was cute but it was destructive. One day the elderly pointer across the street caught it out in the middle of the street. It was a big, noisy fight but that dog killed the groundhog. Impressive. She wasn’t a big dog . . .

Sadly the garden is no more. he tore it all up, so I guess it is farmers market produce for me. I do not have the ambition to start all over. Yes most dogs can kill them. And from what farmers have told me they are vicious if trapped or cornered. I can tell you there claws and teeth are HUGE. NOt cuddly at all. LOL

Well, nuts… do you have a sunny porch you could put a tomato plant in a pot? I used to do peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes in pots but the trees have blocked out too much sun and I just waste time and money trying to grow anything but shade plants.

I have to admit that, for me, tomatos are the only thing I really miss growing. The others taste pretty close to garden grown but grocery store tomatoes could be cardboard. Lol

Bluey, that’s quite a hole. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a badger outside of a zoo and I’m very glad!

I think they meant well when they wrote the prescription but when in doubt always ask a pharmacist. Norco is good - helped me quite a bit when I broke my ankle. They gave me Norco 10 at first but that wiped me out so they changed it to Norco 7 and that worked great. I didn’t feel groggy or dopey at all; could function quite well minus the pain.

Hope you get the thing that works for you.

And roasted groundhog? Would you serve that with stuffing or just a side of rice??? bwahahaha

Sorry about your garden - little bastards…….

Nice bagged salad, I think.

Yes, but I have so many farmers in the area that sell their wares all summer.

And much less work on your part

I like the variety of produce I can get at a farmer’s market that I couldn’t begin to approach in my own yard. When I have a chance, I go to the organic farm that has a small store on the premises. They will also sell bread (outsourced), chicken and duck eggs (very local, on the premises) and they have goats and are more than willing to even post baby goat videos on their FB page and what can be better than baby goat videos

Here, people leave produce on the post office table, for anyone to take what they want.

Since so many of us are on P.O. boxes, not mail routes, it goes fast.

I wonder if there is one such place there that people offer garden overflow free also?
May want to ask around.

That is very true : ) I’m lucky to have a produce stand not far away from me and their tomatoes are divine, so that’s what I do too. Less to water too. lol

Bluey, we don’t have anything like that here. Some people take their abundance of produce to the food bank and others give it away to neighbors and friends until they quit answering the door

No never heard of that here. But it is farm country where I live, and anyone and everyone puts out there produce in front of there house or takes it to the farmers market, I get my eggs that way. And raw Honey from a local bee keeper.
Plus there are a ton of Amish around me.
