The "Bring Chrome Home" crowd is batty, but...
LOL, they are stunned that the Coburns sold their shares. They were so certain that the Coburns were going to buy the Martins out. Also, they are so upset he is going to Taylor Made (which looks like a nice place to me). So glad the Coburns are out of it. Hopefully no more info can be leaked to the crazies. What are the crazies going to do now that the saintly Coburn is not in the mix anymore???
Taylor Made is a nice place. There are several really good mares boarded there and other good horses get sent there for layups. Plus aren’t they one of the top places for sales prep? I think this is pretty good considering they are a “slaughterhouse.”

Since the Coburns are out of it now, it will be interesting to see if the frenzy starts calming down.

Joyful Victory! Pepper’s Pride! Evening Jewel!

And don’t forget, American Pharoah grew up there.

Oh yeah, Taylor Made, a real “horrible” place.

Taylor Made has bought the minority share of the 4-year-old colt previously held by Steve Coburn.

grabs popcorn and 3D glasses, and settles in to watch

Wonder if they’ve seen the choice words Martin has had for PR folks - he loathes them and is quite paranoid about that profession. He was quite outspoken about PR back when Del Mar wanted Chrome to parade before the fans.

At the time more than one fan gently suggested on the old version of DAP FB page that the partnership might benefit from some PR guidance. It quickly became clear that Martin needed advice as much as Coburn as Martin became scathing on the topic in his response.

I don’t think anybody will be able to handle him. Taylor Made will likely just be more discreet about their differences than Art Sherman has occasionally been.

Seriously? The poor, abused Coburns are taking the page down because people have been bashing them?!?! Have they seen anything on the BCH page? Why don’t they just tell the truth, the reason they are taking the page down is because they sold their share of the horse and thus are no longer The Coburns of California Chrome? And this entire time the fans have been saying that Martin was in it for the money but look who sold out! This is like a soap opera.

From Bring Chrome Home: “if you look at Taylor farms web page the first thing that comes up are the stallions they have for sale.” They are a stallion sales farm.

This has to take the cake (these are the stallions that they are standing currently).

Also, as long as we are talking about Taylor Made, what are these “associate stallions,” including Tiznow? Am not acquainted with the phrase, and it seems that they are standing elsewhere.

Well, apparently they, of course, blame Martin for making the Coburns sell their share. One person even claims that the Coburns just could not watch the way Martin was abusing the horse so they had to get out and not be associated with the ordeal. So much for fighting for what you love. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the money they made.

And I really don’t get how they can say Martin is abusing this horse. He is not even racing! So he went to England for a few months. Big deal. Horses travel around the world all the time. And they make it sound like Martin went and hit Chrome’s leg and bruised the bone himself. I guess they don’t understand that horses have soundness issues all the time. Things happen.

Breakups are always ugly and no one involved with this mess has conducted themselves well with the exception of the horse himself of course–and maybe Art Sherman though some could say his public complaints about having Chrome taken from his care and sent to England over his and the minority partner’s objections set off this social network nightmare. Looks like Chrome himself will land on his feet at Taylor Made, which despite some of his more hysterical fans is definitely not a back door channel to the slaughterhouse. He may even be back racing next year. Just hope the folks at Taylor Made are ready to deal with Perry Martin.

That and the in all likelihood premature release of the info on the Taylor Made deal on the CC FB page his granddaughter updates.

I imagine that’s why TM is just saying that they’d have a statement at the appropriate time. They probably didn’t expect the info to get out that way.

Art is old enough to just tell it like it is… delightful guy.

Awwwwh look it that, some fan’s feeling butthurt and wants to stir the pot some more. Isn’t that just precious.

My goodness. THE TRUTH!! Wow. News at 11.

Can’t blame the guy for being annoyed. Under his management the horse won $6 million, was sound and happy and I imagine he thinks that if Martin had followed his advice he would be winning a whole string of grade one races in the U.S. and boatloads of money. Of course he could also have gotten hurt in California as easily as in England but that wouldn’t have been quite so controversial.

At any rate, I’m thinking of fictionalizing the whole thing and turning it into my next novel except I can’t figure out whether to make it a comedy, a drama or a murder mystery.

It can have elements of all three! Something for everyone! Or you could write it as a Greek tragedy.

Did anyone see that woman’s comments about taylor made saying that they send the horses to auction when they don’t need them anymore? Where do people get their information?:lol:

Likely totally misinterpreting the sale site. 'Cause some people are stoopid. (did I spell that right 'cause I hate when I make typos.)

And now the oldest sibling is out for 4-6 months. What a shame, she looked very promising

Guess it just goes to show. Horses get hurt, and it doesn’t matter if they’re with their oh so loving family or not.

Well how are the whackadoos going to explain this one? She wasn’t being neglected in England, was IN California with her family and those she loves (and those who love her), was in the care of the Shermans, and she STILL suffered a work related injury. Who should we blame here? My guess is that it’s still the Martins’ fault.

Oh of cooooourse it was Martin’s fault. He’s trying to collect on her life insurance too, don’tcha know.

And it won’t matter how glowingly Martin spoke of Steve Sherman, he clearly is being a jerk according to the whackadoos.

Well duuuhhhh… trashy romance. Because this whole situation pretty much reads like one :smiley:

The Truth About Perry And Denise Martin page is just about as good as the Bring Chrome Home page! Very entertaining!
