I don’t think that Facebook was much of anything when the FOBs were at the height of their fervor. Of course, I’ll lay a bet that a bunch of the hard core FOBs may have turned into Chromies. However, even at their worst, the FOBs channeled their energy into other semi-worthy endeavors, all in the name of Barbaro.

Which reminds me. Why aren’t there tons of candles for Chrome? That was the big Barbaro thing–and it’s probably still flickering away in the ether.

Or maybe the Chromies just like to hate.

Some of the Zenyatta crazies thought it was OMG horrible that she was bred 3 years in a row. Some of them said that she needed a break and that the Mosses were greedy or something.

Oh, there was definitely some serious crazy going on with Barbaro. Most “famous” horses live on the backside of the track or at a gated breeding farm, which are not generally accessible to the public. However, New Bolton Center is actually a “public” place - anyone can just walk in off the street. Not only could people display their Barbaro crazy online, they could actually show up and display it in person. There was one woman who would come and do interpretive dance for Dr. Richardson in the lobby. Another would show up and DEMAND that they bring Barbaro’s mother to be there with him. Obviously, we all need our moms when we don’t feel well.

Makes you wonder where all of this crazy comes from, and why famous racehorses seem to bring it out! :eek:

Well, in her defense, Martita was sent to New Bolton and Pimlico to perform her dance at the request of her good friend Mrs. Jackson. I had the pleasure of escorting her around Pimlico when she did her dance on New Year’s Day and while it wasn’t my cup of tea it was moving. Mrs Jackson also sent a photographer with her to both places and the photos were made into a book that they sent me a photocopy of.

That ^ is still not exactly “normal”. I will confess that I clicked on a couple of the more “unusual” BCHers names and saw that they were also FoBs.
There is also a FB page for Zenyatta’s filly that had to be put down after a pasture accident… Z Princess, as they called her.

I guess I just do not understand that kind of fanaticism.

Hahahahahaha. BCH has suddenly become very defensive about its page, saying that they were only disagreeing with Martin’s actions but wished them no harm. I tried to copy the statement but my computer refuses to do so.

Perhaps this has something to do with the fact there is no new news about Chrome and they have to come up with something, or somebody has lawyered up.

I received several messages the past few days informing me of disturbing info being spread about my page BCH. I like to keep my posts strictly about Chrome & the people who surround him. Tonight I have to address a vicious rumor being spread by a few at DAP family & friends of Perry Martin.
To DAP Family, Friends & Fans of Perry Martin
These past few weeks, I received several messages informing me of a disturbing rumor being spread by a few DAP family & friends, concerning BCH. First & most importantly, despite BCH & DAP having opposite opinions, No one has ever made a threatening comment about the Martins. It didn’t & wouldn’t happen. The posts and comments may not be flattering, but they are far from threatening. . If I did what you did to Chrome, I wouldn’t want me talking about it either. Hearing the truth isn’t pleasant, but its far from threatening. I’ve seen some Martin family & friends comments saying this, as well as DAP fans. But unlike my comments, what’s being said about me is libel, as the insinuation is a felony crime. The unfounded accusations are just another attempt at silencing what you don’t want to hear. Why is it when someone disagrees with you, its automatically a hate crime? I post the truth, I have strong opinions, that doesn’t make me a terrorist. ( which is actually what someone called me in a comment they posted) Stop making it a point to villianize myself & others who don’t agree with you. Its true what they say… “What started as a fairy tale has turned into a nightmare”. Poor Chrome. It could have been so different, & it should have been. He deserved a life so different.

Wow, guess they have to find some way to keep people interested. I find it fascinating how they manage to twist any feedback into more criticism of DAP or Martin. I’m glad CC and Hope have a media break, can BCH manage to survive if there is nothing to report on for months? Or are these people that bored that they can exist on manufactured rage?

On a side note that “Truth about Perry Martin” page (which now looks like a numbered company), has posted that the FB page will be deleted because people don’t want to know the truth lol.

Now that Chrome is at Taylor Made there are no more pictures. Once again California Chrome is away from his family. His story was once an inspiration to the people. Making people believe that happy endings do happen. Then to have all of it taken away. And showing the true side of the Martin’s. Once upon a time Chrome raced with heart for the love of The people because he had a close relationship with, Willie, Raul and Allan. He came back from England a minimum of 100 lbs under weight. And lost that sparkle in his eye. The look of confusion and sadness broke my heart.

Ah - so now Taylor Made is going to be portrayed as evil as they do not give the BCHers full photo essays every day…

If I recall the legal definitions correctly, the only thing BCH could possibly accuse the Martin’s or whoever of would be defamation. I think libel (as well as slander) must involve the accuser losing $, and I think it has to be a fairly significant amount at that (more than just a few bucks). If anyone would be able to make a successful claim of libel it would be the Martins and Taylor Made. The BCH page should NOT be making any money, and if it is I think the Martins could go after them for it.

Well, I don’t think that page is being ran by a crack legal mind so the definitions are probably irrelevant. It just amazes me that not only is there one person out there who feels entitled enough to start a page stating opinions about something they literally know nothing about, but they actually have people agreeing with them! I have been within a few inches of the horse one more than one occasion and have 20 plus years under my belt as a licensed trainer and I certainly don’t feel I have enough info to form an opinion let alone start a page to share that opinion with the unwashed masses.
