Either he should never race again because they could tell he wasn’t happy, or (if he wins) he’s clearly the best racehorse ever. They will make themselves right either way, because they’re right no matter what. I predict angry messages.
They will never admit that he could be beat by a superior racehorse, because CHROME IS THE BEST, OMG! If he loses it is because somebody got in his way obviously.
Then the angry (or celebratory) posts will be followed by a GaWani Pony Boy picture and some doodoo on the spirit of the horse.

Of course, it will all be Martin’s fault, and he sucked Taylor Made into doing it via all sorts of nasty and sneaky ways. Same goes for Sherman and Co., who are, of course, innocent to Martin’s plans to run Chrome into oblivion. .

They are likely praying for Chrome to lose as we write. It’s amazing on what side of the fence they lean when the story goes well for the horse. Other websites seem to respond positively to the latest news, while BCH incessantly promotes a dim, grim outlook. I can’t believe how Ms BCH continues the negative spin, even resorting to last year’s Dubai campaign of ‘horrors and abuse’ (even though Chrome came in a respectable second place). 
And Chrome is missing his family of course, why do they think horses are like humans?
Well, he does at least have part of his family there, including his faithful groom, Raul. Of course, unfortunately the man who raised him singlehandedly, Mr. Coburn, cannot be present because he sold out his share for a house – and to save Chrome’s life, incidentally.
BTW, it seems that Frosted won his race today in great fashion. Looks like it’s shaping up to be a real race in March.

I’ll never get it. Somehow it makes sense to them because if he hadn’t sold Chrome, Martin never would have stopped “bullying” him? To me that looks more like taking the coward’s way out.
I don’t think that Martin bullied Coburn, more likely it was simply ignoring him–which, of course, would be positive torture to the C’s.
As far as selling his percentage and JJ griping that Martin lessened Chrome’s potential value significantly, I gather that the Japanese were very interested in Chrome last year (Martin wanted him kept solely in the USA, I believe), and were the high bidders for the horse. Also, I read somewhere that the Sheik was very taken with Chrome and had offered (take this with a grain of salt) 10M for a percentage. Could this have perhaps been Coburn’s share and Martin then refused to accept it? Perhaps this was partly the cause for all of the sudden vicious tales that were spread about the “majority owner.” In the same vein, wonder if the Sheik is one of the ten buyers they were talking about.
Some Japanese were out at Los Alamitos showing interest and making offers at times which is why those BCH folks don’t understand the horse could have ended up half a world away. There were stories that the Sheikh was interested in Chrome while the horse was in Newmarket, but the sum I heard is not in the realm of reality so don’t hold it much in high regard.
I wonder what will happen in the future to the rest of Chrome’s siblings and the two owners’ future with them?

The local photographer said he was present and the Sheikh expressed to Martin an interest in joining the partnership about four weeks before the Ascot. Two weeks later the Sheikh begged off. Said he would wait out the Coburn “situation”. Too much complaining about Martin to the Ascot media handlers. Pretty much end of story.
The Martins have three other horses at Newmarket.I know the regular photographer who handles the yards (he lives not far from Rae Guest and pops in there often - my dad lives in London btw) and a second photographer, Smithso,n has become friends with Martin’s daughter. There is a third who lives both near Newmarket and Los Al who was present and took photos when Chrome left the UK. She corroborates the story.

I’m afraid I mis-spoke and meant to infer that the ‘amount’ or sum I heard was likely a rumor, not that I did not hold the Sheikh’s possible offer or inquiry in high regard. I do believe that the Sheikh would have expressed at some point a serious interest in Chrome, whether in Newmarket or during the DWC campaign.
The BCH folks who whine on about the path that the owners have chosen for Chrome would have been stopped in their tracks if the horse had exchanged hands anywhere around the globe rather than stay in the US.
Now they’re openly bitching on the Coburn’s of Hope’s Love page about Perry Martin. If the Coburns let that continue (but we’re not surprised that they will because they just love playing the victims) they could get some pretty nasty repercussions.
And Kerri Farrands proves that she’s as stupid and idiotic as ever.

The BCH page is all about putting people down. Posting on the Hope’s Love page is well…putting down the horses too. They’ve slammed several owners and trainers. At some point the real issue will surface. Should be interesting.

I’m incredibly blessed to be able to visit the barns as I do and I hate idiocy from Facebook ‘experts’ who if I could take them out without repercussion, I would. Dreamswept there’s two replies to the comment still there that I can see, I assume yours and one from Martin Racing. Methinks the original poster needs her eyes checked. Mine isn’t so sharp anymore and even I could see there was no cupcake on those silks. I was suprised she raced with the Martin colours though.
