HE CAN HALT… WE KNOW THAT!!! ANY HORSE CAN HALT, CANT THEY???
ANKY DOES NOT MAKE HIM HALT (WHICH IS OBVIOUS) AS AN INSULT OR SLAP IN THE FACE TO OTHERS.
WTF, she is NOT EVERYONE’s HERO THEO. WE DONT ALL GET UP AND “WANA BE ANKY”…
BELIVE IT OR NOT…
Not that I don’t agree with you, STF… But, maybe a cup of Decaf is in order…

WoooW STF why are you speaking for the rest of the world.
Please replace WE with I. Or are you part of some Royal family
And… it was more to show how we welcome our heroes back home.

AMEN:)
As you well know…she speaks for a lot of us, Theo. Even I have to admit that your worship of Anky is getting a little juvenile. And, your desire to rub peoples noses in it is becoming a little more than rude.

Oh for heaven’s sake. If she was an american and had won three gold medals for YOUR country, you would be throwing flower petals in her path too, and you’d be strangling all the anti rollkur people with your bare hands.
Oh and look, the curb shank is all the way back when there is no tension on the reins.
And what is that? The horse is standing there like an old trail horse, with the reins hanging down, for a whole interview. Like what most people who watch dutch tv have seen many many times.
Welcome to COH, where you can actually get in trouble for LIKING someone.
YOU ALL need some decaff.
Not raised with older brothers I take it? Just askin’
Not sure what that was all about…
since I don’t speak Dutch.
But I did see a very quiet horse, resting in cross ties and meandering down a country road.
So, when do we get to see Salinero ?
I have seen videos of the horse at home before. Anky and her horses are filmed and interviewed quite often. In general he is very quiet and well behaved.

But STF I thought you didn’t care.
:lol::lol::lol:
It very kind of loosely(VERY loosely) reminds me of a school horse that I competed on a while back. She was a bit more sensitive and foreward to begin with, but was very capable of walking and halting nice and quietly during hacks and lessons. Fast forward to a show, even a really, really tiny one, and if you attempted to halt her she’d dance every which way at best and explode at worst. If I had to halt her at any point during a class where she was alone in the ring, my trainer would tell me to “pause” and keep going before I aggravated her and hope that the rest of the ride would make up for it. So, I can sympathize with her, especially because this was a little tiny pony mare that was just a little tricky, compared to 17+ hands of something that is most like 10x harder to ride.
Theo, welcome to COTH. Where people don’t CARE about Anky or the Dutch/Germans. What’s the difference again?

Maybe he just gets hyped up when he sees a dressage ring… his groom was bragging after the Athens Olympics about about how laid-back he is…
This bears a striking resembalance to the lashing I took when I posted that on conditioning rides I often let my Arab trot for the first few miles rather than force her to walk because she HATES walking. It’s easier for both of us if I let her get it all out of her system, and then ask for the walk. Sure she “will” walk if I force the issue but she’s not happy about it, and it’s just more heartache for me by forcing the issue. She’s a 5 year old super fit endurance horse who wants to GO. I was vehemently chastised for skipping steps, allowing holes in my training, encouraging bad manners, etc.
But on another thread when somebody else does it, it’s just fine. It’s ok for a top rider to blow off the halt because - gee, I don’t want to piss off my super hot horse. Geeze, don’t ya love the internet??
(Just so you know the rest of the story, I started her on magnesium and raspberry leaves and most of that nervous energy has fizzled away. I now begin all my rides at the walk and only ask for the trot when I’m well away from home. Amazing what a couple supplements can do for a horse.)
She would have never even made the team, not with Klaus as coach. And not with the open-to-the-public warm-ups at the qualifiers here.
Even Klaus openly critizes her in a dvd available at the tack stores, entitled “working towards success.” Something about not a role model…
From day one the horse could halt. So what? He is doing EXACTLY as he was trained when not halting.
Is it possible that Theo is an Anky stalker?. Almost start to think he has a crush on her:eek:
Strike up the band - the horse got home.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaawn.

Bless, you, I really needed some comic relief tonight. I see six white horses, and a 42 piece brass Omp-pah band set to go! Big orange flags on every horse!
