The Maestro has written another book

At this point his running ads is like buying friends - and failing.

But he was doing that for free, right?

Hang on, note what is written at the bottom of the screen shot.

Maybe he is editing it again. Adding in a new chapter about the whole MB trial because he thinks it is all about him.

On Amazon it says ā€œOut of print-Limited availability.ā€

I think thatā€™s because all sales are now going through his own website, presumably so he can keep track of those who purchase it and to know their full contact informationā€¦ :grimacing:

Plus he could control any reviews (including making up reviews out of whole cloth since there would be no need to get around needing a verifiable Amazon account) and it would be easier to mask how badly things are going with respect to sales, reception, etc.

Well, that is a disturbing thought.

I did not realize a book that was sold as an on demand print self published could be out of print.

LOLā€¦and when you click on that link to his website, itā€™s not to be found. Just an error 404 message.

So how is he going to get the book printed if heā€™s no longer using Amazon? Iā€™m sure he probably has a small stockpile of them, as he was undoubtedly responsible for the majority of purchases.

Not that I expect demand to exceed supply or anything like that. I dare say the majority of purchases (that werenā€™t by Nick himself or his family) were from people buying a ticket to view the train wreck.

I suspect he can just open the Amazon sales back up for long enough to submit an order for himself, and then close it again.

But again, he probably purchased a stockpile, anyway.

Thanks for my morning laugh.

And I tend to agree with the thought that if he sells directly off his website heā€™ll have the buyerā€™s contact info. Every purchaser will receive a coupon for a free lesson: Any rider, any horse, any place. On their dime.

Plus, he can then make all sorts of claims about his book being an unverified best seller in the equestrian niche market. Because whoā€™s gonna know?

My concern is more that if any of his direct buyers dare to post a negative review anywhere, heā€™ll know where they live and have an easy way to harass them.

Hopefully no one here tries to buy it from him. They can probably just toss out that they want to read it and see if any of the copies floating about are still available.

You can have a book printed at Staples or Lulu online. If youā€™re a real dummy you might hire a vanity press. Not that itā€™s relevant.

I for one would love to see a gorgeous hardcover copy.

Iā€™d report his sponsored posts. Facebook tracks negative feed back, including ā€œhide postsā€

Facebook offers the capability to pay for blasting an ad or post or page to a targeted audience: you select words that will pull out a group of FB users by interest or identifiers in their self-descriptions. Itā€™s pretty inexpensive, depending on how widely you want the ad to be distributed and for how long.

And they do provide pretty good analytics (if you trust FB!) of how many the ad reached, how many engaged with it, etc. Then forever after, they target YOU with requests to re-activate the ad. ā€œYou could be reaching 5000 people!ā€

Some grad programs were doing it at my former U.

Thanks for the explanation. So some of you are just lucky to be in the targeted demographic.

Excellent point, especially since we know he has a history of doing that.
