The Maestro has written another book

Or my old eventing pony ( my avatar )who would take off at an unstoppable gallop if he didn’t like the rider.

Exactly. :+1:

Renaming Gifted, “Talent.” That was a reach, eh?

Recollecting the reading of his book (and I use that term loosely) is giving me a headache.

Saw this, reminded me of someone….

Aw, heck. That could be me!

Ah, but the difference is that you’re aware of your skill set’s limitations.

According to Maestro, he haz all the skillz. No limitations whatsoever. Except lack of core strength, no independent seat, no patience, etc., ad nauseam.

He’s got all the usual old pictures posted again on his dressage supporters Facebook page.

He still has that page? Why? He doesn’t do any dressage and I doubt he has any supporters who are actually dressage riders lol.

Exactly!

He still seems to be stuck on the idea that grand prix horses are somehow, by definition, push-button…

Tell me you’ve never ridden an upper level horse without saying you’ve never ridden an upper level horse

“Push button easy” lol. Where does he come up with this stuff? I hope the good people of Facebook quickly corrected him. That being said, I don’t think the DH audience is exactly well-educated in that regard.

Someone should ask him if horse isn’t push button easy at Fourth, does that mean it’s not a Fourth Level horse?

Oh, so he’s now attempting to defend his remarks about Shannon Peter’s ride on Disco Inferno? Her horse had a minor blow up in a GP test and she calmly, gracefully, excused herself. Of course, DH posted pics and video. Nick ragged on Shannon. Then Shannon, on her fb page, defended and praised her horse, saying he’s hot and unpredictable but she loves him just the way he is, and she doesn’t allow the trolls (like those on DH) to bother her.

DH posts Shannon’s comments, along with typical nasty personal commentary.

Nick responds with with what you screenshot. Yet there’s more! Nick gives Shannon some personal advice:

“I would use this as a learning experience and do some self-reflection.”

Oh, the irony!

I once had the privilege of taking lessons on a Grand Prix schoolmaster mare. She was far from push button easy. But if she deemed you were finally riding well, balanced, in tune with her and applying pressure to the right button in exactly the right way, she would happily and gracefully perform the exercise you were asking for…

Thanks to her, I got the feel of canter pirouettes, passage and piaffe. But she knew that I did not “know” as well as she did… and I think her reaction to NP’s bumbling attempts to ride like Nuno Oliviera would have been contemptuously BIG. With me, it would be a shake of her head and maybe a slight crow hop in back…

Where does he get the idea that all upper level schoolmasters are as forgiving as the sweet hunter lesson horse he tried to use his magical specialness on to make into an amazing Grand Prix horse? That alone tells you that the poor man has zero idea of the kind of horse it takes to get there - never mind the amount of hours of good riding and understanding that is needed in the saddle.

Some self-reflection is indeed called for here - maybe he can do that while he performs wobbly 20m circles on his lawn mower…

Not to mention, to get the GP movements to be as brilliant and quick as they are, a HOT horse is welcomed! You can’t get that zip and fire without a good amount of sensitivity.

He also doesn’t know what oxymoron means

Well, that would explain why he will never be able to ride one. Brilliant horses can be unpredictable and spooky- that’s part f what makes them brilliant. Of course, as soon as “reins of crotch” flies through the air, the horse gets to make a victory round, and NP does the “ground hog”.

Reins of crotch :rofl::rofl::rofl:

He’ll just say the horse wasn’t trained.

Even if 30 other GP riders can ride the horse, the horse wasn’t trained.

I suck at screenshotting, but there’s a post on DH where Nick takes on an equine physiotherapist. Chloe, my FB alter, found it quite entertaining in an eye-rolly way.

Lately many of Nick’s posts are going unchallenged and unemoji’d. I think people are starting to figure out that if they disagree with Nick (especially w/r/t Charlotte or Carl), or call him out on his ignorance he’ll block them. Which isn’t anything to lose sleep over, but it does prevent the viewing of any further proclamations of greatness or offers to train “for free”.
