He seems to have a notion that training warmbloods is easy, hence his bragging about training non-warmbloods.
Yes, selectively bred warmbloods tend to be physically better suited for collection. Beyond that there are so many variables. Plus phenotype =/= willingness to do the job for which they were bred.
I don’t think he believes he’s lying. In the book he says something like he’d be a fool not to say he’s talented. (I think it’s in that weird Q&A section).
There are plenty of community-level instructors who could teach him a great deal. Maybe they’d even have a school horse he could ride. Yet he’d undoubtedly spend the entire time arguing dressage theory with the poor instructor and then sneak off on the school horse and try to make it piaffe.
FWIW, that is not my experience. The first 4 hits are his facebook and blog stuff (and the linkedIn for maybe some poor sod who shares his name? or is that NP, too?), followed by 3 instructional videos, then finally one gets to COTH threads. And this current thread with the most info isn’t even the top COTH thread that comes up.
Maybe b/c I’m searching outside the US? Us ferriners are at a disadvantage wrt accurate info gathering re: this saga.
Speaking of outside the country, I note that he claims in several places to have given clinics “all over the world”. Is there any evidence that he’s ever given a clinic outside the US? Has he shared info, pictures, dates, testimonials of “satisfied customers”, etc. of the international clinics like he does for the one in Iowa (Idaho?)?
This seems like another point that would be super easy to prove or disprove.
Same here. A whole batch of COTH threads come up as the second hit.
Of course I had to look at his “dressage supporters” facebook page. (I keep thinking that must be a site about athletic underwear or boot sock garters).
Anyway… If I were a dressage supporter, why would I be interested in reading one of his political rants? My oh my, he sure feels strongly about BLM sympathizers.
Also, I had no idea he came across so incredibly desperate. In several posts he offers to provide his expertise to
:
ANY HORSE
ANY RIDER
ANY LEVEL
ANYWHERE IN THE USA
He must be really good because he says it in ALL CAPS!
I thought Sarah Sarah seemed like an alter, too, especially after posting “i plan on buying it. […] Don’t know your story yet and don’t know you at all.” (who writes out of the blue that they don’t know someone unless they’re trying to pretend they don’t know someone?), but the profile looks legit and isn’t brand new.
What’s also funny is that Nick put in a plug for his book among those posts. He’s trying to say that hey, his book covers exactly this topic: corruption among the dressage judges! (Like he has anything at all in common with that level of riding).
I can’t see his posts in there, so I must have offended him at some point, though I am mystified as to how that might have happened. I don’t post much except on Thoroughbred racing and indie nail polish pages. I don’t figure Nick for a nail polish kind of a guy, and I’m not aware that he’s a horse racing fan. And “Mara” is not my real name, not even close.
Not being able to see his posts isn’t something I’ll lose sleep over.
I have never posted a single thing on facebook, but years ago I had a (non-horsey) business page which is now defunct. I guess that’s what allows me to log in to facebook and see public pages and posts.
Nothing to lose sleep about. Just predictable stuff about his riding, with some emotionally charged, off topic posts that ensure I’d never want to sit near him at the IHOP counter.
Oh! And apparently Chevy did one-tempi changes before he did a single, solo flying change. I cannot even imagine how that’s something to celebrate, but what do I know.
