The "NO REINSTATEMENT" thread.

By all means and let’s get an opinion from USHJA in May

It would be really nice if our Hunter Jumper Affilliate took a stand for the horses. And if they helped us make a point so it would never ever happen again.

Really?? Well, that’s good news then!!

Keep crossposting…

VB- thanks for he heads up! mind boggling!!! So glad to see the issue is being addressed so intensely.

Keep crossposting links to www.noreinstatement.org please!!

If you want to know how much gore and horror go to the website

War Admiral has posted them from objective sources. Then try and tell us why they should be Re-Instated.

Oh my god, I cannot beleive that. That website is absolutely aweful. And as I understand, they only did this for money!!!

That is correct.

Wannabe what matters is that we make a difference

It is possible that the Petition can be ignored but that’s why even if we can’t stop the Federation from letting them back as members we can make sure that new trainers and owners will be deterred from such action by our Rule Changes which we can submit by June 1, 2006.

This is a no lose cause. I can’t imagine that the Federation would be so arrogant as to ingore 5/10 thousand people people who say NO! they shouldn’t be allowed back to do business as usual as members in good standing. They can still do whatever they wish; just not in OUR Federation.

Is it possible for them to ignore it ? I would think, in the long run, not.

Of course it’s possible.

It’s all about risk assessment. USEF could conceivably be sued by any of the convicted felons it doesn’t reinstate. OTOH USEF could conceivably lose its status as officially sanctioned NGB if it does let them back in.

So getting sued by a handful of people or the possibility of getting sued by a handful of people outweighs the continued status as the officially sanctioned NGB at the International level for all present and future International riders and events? Money talks and to h*ll with ethics. Yeah that sounds about right. Any of our illustrious board members former Enron executives?

Doesn’t seem like a difficult choice to me, stand up for what the FEI stands for, for what the Sportsman’s Charter says we stand for, for what the rules regarding abuse stand for. Grow a pair and get on with it.

Or we go back to having the USET as a separate NGB. Is that even possible?

Not a lawyer but in my opinion the AHSA proved…

that the Federation has every right to ban convicted felons in the best interest of the sport if not he best interests of the Federation. Since those who were convicted seem very highly placed financially. We will ban them in our association usAHSA because we can.

I don’t think Seal they have any grounds for a law suit if they are convicted felons guilty of abuse and frauds. I think that’s a “pig in joke” . They wave the welfare of the horses as their dedicated purpose and ignore the negligence at the high levels. Then suddenly these horses which have become stars with some serious coaxing have to do the job clean at the FEI level.

Why not start them off that way and then weed down the horses before they break-down and get sour? I totally agree that the USET should have been made the NGB and the AHSA/USAE should have stood by it’s own principles. Who would have cared? The USET then would have fallen on their face or won on their own.

We could have still fed new riders and horses into their system instead of so many being forced into unrecognized shows as now because of the extra expense of supporting the enlarged program. The annual budget went up from $14 million a year to $22 million. That’s $8 milion coming out of our hides to support the activities of people who can well afford to pay their own expenses. The FEI working group was over budget; the High Performance group was over budget and the National Working Group donated $75,000 to support the new programs.

I am here as well, sitting quietly in the wings…cross posting as much as I can.

Oh, and by the way, Rothina says NO REINSTSTEMENTS as well.

What can you propose to effectively eliminate the negative element.

That is the point to this thread. Not negativity but a postive forward motion to protect those innocent from being victimized. What we really want is to be assured “NEVER AGAIN” will any person decide to kill a horse rather than take a loss and sell it down for less money. I don’t understand why this is a difficult concept.

Bumping for visibility

And a word to all…

keep your eyes peeled for the next issue of the Chronicle…

hey, yeah

When is the ad I had the honor of designing for y’all going to appear?

Can’t wait to see it. And howdy, WA & everyone else on this! I forget to check this forum, spend most of my time telling my sad stories about falling on my keister trying to learn to event.

Rock On.

fyi - looks like the 11/16/1992 Sports Illustrated which contains the article “Blood Money” by Lester Munson and William Nack is available from “usedmagazines.com

SGray, did it state the cost on those?

I don’t either, but I’m sorry to say I’m cynical enough to think that people WILL still do it.

Me, I’ll settle for “Do it if you really think you can live with yourself, but understand you won’t be allowed on a rated show ground ever again if you do…”

Well I’m an idealist and Joan of Arc is my patron saint

So I am doomed to believe that what is right must triumph or die trying. I think if we can get passed that if convicted of such a heinous crime you can live and love but not use horses to support you ever again it will make the punishment enough that it will never happen again.
