The "NO REINSTATEMENT" thread.

OK, so we’ve got 1 person on this thread so far who thinks reinstatement is going to happen and one who doesn’t.

Here’s how I see it: They would reinstate an awful lot of these people if they could.

And if we remain silent, it could well be presented to us as a fait accompli before we ever even know what hit us.

OTOH: You seriously think they won’t sacrifice the suspended parties, plus the goodwill of a few current GP riders (GP riders having a fairly limited competitive life span, after all) if the million-pound PR sh*thammer is falling on them from every conceivable direction and they think there’s a possibility USEF might get removed as NGB for all eternity???

I’m not fooling around. This is MY sport too, and yours as well. It’s never going to be perfect, we all know that; but it should NEVER be a sport where breaking a horse’s legs with a crowbar for money is seen by the NGB as O.K. I’ve got a horse sitting in my barn right now who would not be alive if these people had continued to roam unchecked.

It’s time to stop this crap. I fully support USEF when they do the right thing. But like any other large corporate entity, sometimes they need a wake-up call.

Let’s see, hmmm, contentious and petty–this is the guy who keeps calling me DUDE in a most disrepectful manner?..

Al signs the entry blank as trainer, and goes on the show grounds with the clients, rides the horses in the “pro” classes, and trains/coaches the clients.

I am gently sticking out my neck and asking doesn’t PV have people going to the shows and doing that. I thought I saw that David O. was hired to train PV clients at the shows and sign their entry blanks. If not him someone is.

I could be completly wrong and I apoligize upfront and will be like a turtle and put my neck back in. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Yes, that was my understanding also. THAT is where someone needs to file a protest. Not for someone thanking him in an article.

We’re at 756 tonight, please keep passing on the link to the petition. With 13,000 HJ members, I hope we can get alot more signatures after the holidays. Speaking of: Happy Holidays!

The Chronicle of the Horse Forums Hunter/Jumper The “NO REINSTATEMENT” thread.

Oh mwe, I finally get it. Paul never plugged the horse in, so therefore he didn’t kill it. Okay, now I understand what you are saying. Do you really think we are that stupid? Guess so, or you wouldn’t have said that.

Oh, the irony.

War Admiral’s petition is impressive, and she has an excellent point with making certain the sport’s sponsors also get contacted. The wristbands happen to be a popular show of support right now, you can see the Lance Armstrong Livestrong ones here: http://www.store-laf.org/wristbands.html I have seen them for other causes as well, but the particular ones escape me at the moment. How to market them does remain a mystery - any ideas?

There are no bogus names and the ones falsely submitted in the behalf of others are traced and have been eliminated.

[B]I did get a new order today for the bracelets…keep them coming.

Be nice, be respectful, be polite, no snarking.

meadow lark, obviously you only just started reading (not really a good idea to jump into a 100 page thread uninformed with both barrels blazing, but)… but three people have already been sent on “vacation” for very very small infractions, and I will not hesitate at all to send you to join them.

The rest of you, you know darn well that this thread is on thin ice and should know better than to take the bait. Sit on your hands and stuff a sock in it if you can’t respond in a polite manner.

So the person’s horse wasn’t killed for the insurance profit was my Point–all of our animals die, and that is only partially a matter in the point of this thread…it is supposed to be about inhumane treatment, I thought, and the USEF rules.

Some of you just appear on a rip about this, and the thread keeps going, and going, and going, with no additional info or respect for anyone who has a point of view different than the few who “are driving this bus”, when it seems to me it has lost its purpose and should just be shut down…

What are you talking about? The horses were the victims–you aren’t a dead horse are you?

As I stated earlier…A lot of innocent horse owners are STILL victims:
.and it indirectly affects many of us and will for years to come. I had to listen to my poor little a/o lady, upon the “real” colic death of her beloved hunter, sobbing into the phone to the insurance companies, asking “Do you want to come dig my “Murphy” UP?!!”…due to the mistrust these people have instilled in the horse insurance industry, not to mention the exorbitant increases in mortality rates and the insulting raft of “cause of death” questions our good vets have to endure.

Well we’ll see please PM me your orders. I’d like to mail out over the weekend because we have a show next week. I will have them for sale at the show as well. And a copy of the petition. Afterwards War Admiral if you give me your address I will send what we get to you.

I’m more than a little disturbed that according to someone … that this little brotherhood was just the tip of the iceberg… and since PV (for whatever reason) decided to squeal…he is being crucified ( ten years later) for what could be considered as “doing the right thing”.

If you do as poor a job on your next post as you did on the previous one, you’ll earn yourself a two-week no-expenses paid vacation OFF the BB.

Erin, I do apologize…

So why would a responsible person that was trying to clean up their reputation, put kids at risk, by allowing them to be in violation? That ALL BY ITSELF shows just what he is made of, and where his heart truly still is… all about HIM. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

This is SOOO crazy!!!

There are NO Kids in violation!!!

There are NO Kids at risk!!!

There are NO kids at AWF who do anything other than respect their trainer and focus on learning.

You have yet to provide FIRST HAND PROOF that ANY USEF rules have been violated.

Secretly I think big dawg is in agreement with you all, and just trying to keep things in discussion.

too many words.
since you asked.
but I will sign
for what it is worth.

Enough said. Thank you so much for caring about horses of the past.

I care about horses of the past, but not as a member of the horse welfare committee. In that aspect I am concerned with those of the present and future. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

so is your support of PV on this thread due to your only concern with the welfare of horses of the future as a representative of the Horse Welfare Committee? and not your own view points which would be caring about horses of the past?

and please you don’t need to attack when you reply.

OHHHHH PLEEEZZZZEEEE!!!

Big Dawg has been on the attack in a few Forums. He even calling me a liar regarding public FN records for a German stallion…he didn’t bother to check records pertaining to this horse before quoting the FN for a 30 yr old stallion!! True Grunstein still ranks among the horses in the FN…but he was #1 'in the Day"…no lie!!!

New to this, “not used to the rules”…there is not excuse for your attacks and being RUDE!! … Writing , researching, no-contributory (except keeping the post on page 1) ,postings numbering over 123 in little over 3 weeks …Smells like a troll. If you are fishing for an article… …try to behave like a journalist…

Good idea Limerick

Thank you Erin, once again you have said what has to be said.

I too would not train with someone who disposed of unsuccessful show horses. There are to many kids that would love a freebie and I believe you could write the horse off on your taxes for the amount that it was worth. Pretty easy solution for the unwanted.
